haha right

I don’t dislike Smith, but I am always a little wary of drafting guys from complete loser programs.

Did you feel the same way about Deebo? Much like him Shi was expected to carry the entire passing game on his back because the QB play was just so god awful.

I've been around this board for 10+ years. I've always been pretty realistic. Shi and Jaycee were the only players from last years team I would've drafted.

Mel and the others are raving about the Panthers' draft, even saying it may be the best. They just talked about the Panthers for the last 5-6 minutes straight! I don't think I have ever seen that happen. I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone.

I’ll be honest and say I haven’t been following the draft that long in as much detail as now. Didn’t join here until 2016 and was way more of a FF draft follower before then, i.e. cared way more about the top skill positions and where they went than OL, DL, late round picks etc.

Things I got right over the last 20 years:

Seifert being a joke, Weinke a bust, I believed in Luke, I knew Delhomme was done 2 years before they let him go, and I knew Benjamin would be a bust, same about Butler.

However I was wrong about:

I really thought Moore was going to be the guy in 2010, I didn’t like the Stewart pick in 08, thought Fox should have stayed 1 more year, thought Jake was gonna be the same as Peete in 03 and us draft a QB in 04.

Wow, ESPN getting all excited about us. Kiper and McShay both said Darnold would go 2 this year.

I saw that and this is the best draft I ever remember us having. We’re picking guys on day 3 who have a shot at starting.

Absolutely I did. Hats off to Deebo, one of the few to climb out of that dumpster fire and play like a pro’s pro. Even with a supremely talented guy like Clowney from that program, you see a total loser with a bad attitude who only plays when he feels like it. I hope we see Deebo-like from Horn and Smith, but I am hesitant to be optimistic.

Nice little segment on Carolina. If you treat darnold like a pick it improves the draft grade quite a bit.

Yea I was saying literally all thread in the thread on day 1 that Darnold would be the #2 in this very draft, and it wasn't from Mel or McShay

    • The #Panthers explored the possibility of adding Jaire Alexander, but there was never an offer made, a league source told @theobserver.   https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1935436577649401872?s=46
    • Yes I agree, the future RT could easily be christ. When he shocking re-signed here for the cheap, he said part of the reason was the OL coaching staff.  I've already thought too much about 2026. The RT has all the options, including resigning Motown. I was never a big fan, but he's solid and peptides and stem cells can fix a gippy knee. If he makes it though this year and wants to return, why not for 2 years 16 million?? Or like you said give the job to Christ or draft your RT...... that I feel is the best current method. With both OGs in the 20 million per cap range and Icky......ooooooooooo boy he could be the first 30 million per OLmen in NFL history. That's a huge portion of cap space for the OL, which I agree with, but in order to offset those 20 and 30 million deals... you need cheap rookie contracts. (unless Motown would take a huge pay cut and whoever the C will be).  This is the deepest OL I can recall in Panthers history.  I believe Morgan should try and trade either Kingston or Zavala.  I didn't even talk about Yosh, Tarquin, or Walton. Yosh is same age as christ and why not him as RT after good swing tackle years? Tarquin is a UDFA on the prayer program, 150,000 in guarantees and why not him in 2026? Walton seems to be a OL coach favorite, he followed the Tampa Bay staff here after 2 years there and add in one year here, he's stuck around for some reason. I think they need to spend very light on RT and Panthers have lots of options, I love it.
    • That better not be the case. They need to be ready week 1. The easiest part if their schedule is the first few fames
