Hurney era teams lived off the back of superstars and how they could carry.

minus maybe the 2003 run.  That was a pretty well built team.  After that we got too reliant on a handful of guys.

What happened with the Panthers draft was unlike anything we've witnessed heretofore.

To successfully trade back multiple times, Fitterer and Rhule would have had to have a clear vision of the draft, not only for the Panthers, but also for every team.  It is truly amazing the amount of time and effort that would be needed to pull this off.

No wonder Rhule has been looking so exhausted these last few months.

Seems to me that Fitt and Rhule were in agreement on both team building, but also the grading of the players, as well as the state of the current roster.  That's refreshing.

Fitt and Matt both seemed to have really trusted their scouting, and their board.  Hats off.

Haven't been this happy as a fan since Marty was fired, and before that...years.

That's a very bold comment about never. If your speaking about depth sure. I mean if your sold on Moore and a now drafted player who hasn't played a down yet. DJ is great But he is no Smitty and Anderson is a different receiver than Moose. I'd rather have Moose. They stand head and shoulders over the 2 we have and maybe with our whole wr room. Oh the old days. Excited to see what this year brings however. Just bold saying NEVER.

You have a right to your opinions--not mine.

This is my opinion. If ya don't like it, oh well.

I believe when it comes to a teams draft board, it won't look like anybody else's.  Certainly not any fans.

The team has done more homework than any of us can possibly imagine, and they have their own values on these kids, regardless if the succeed or fail.

If you believe that a certain player is your guy, you don't wait for him to fall where others think he'll fall, you grab him when you have the opportunity to and it lines up with your value of the kid. Not anybody else.

Tommy Tremble.

he is our guy.  and all of you are going to love what this monster is gonna do..

Can someone elaborate on the off field concerns? I’ve heard that with several of our draft picks but cannot find specifics on what that means. There’s a bit of a difference between being an immature college kid and a serial killer, but both can be considered off field concerns ha

I am a fan of Tremble, maybe overdrafted a little bit, but this kid is a fierce blocker. He has that "dog" mentality to dominate his opponent. I also believe that Tremble will and can develop into a pass catching threat. He catches the ball with his hands nicely right now, just needs to work on route running. If he can add a little hip drop in/out of cuts watch out for his potential.

Love the late round picks. Shi Smith that late is an A+ in my opinion. This kid will produce from the slot and as a potential punt return option. And oh my, we have a GM that understands adding some beef late in the draft, really love these picks.

As good as CMC has already been in his career, we have added some beef up front with a devastating blocker in Tremble.

On a side note, restaurants in Charlotte have to be excited! Are you kidding me, we just added 2 guards that combine for 700 lbs. and a DT they call "Big Snack"

Mark my words on Tremble -- by about Game #5, he'll have DB's so used to getting steamrolled by his blocks that they'll leave him alone for an uncontested TD pass in the EZ.  Then our offensive options will be pretty much unlimited.

This tweet is what sent me down the rabbit hole

I know about the 6th round Bama G being fat.  I don’t consider that an off field issue really.   I mean I guess it is...off field to me is character.

I’ve never heard a peep about Shi.  I’m pretty dialed in to Gamecocks football too despite being a Clemson fanboy.

But Muschamp is pretty tight lipped and did a good job keeping things quiet around his program.  I guess there could be something there....but he could be overreacting to standard stuff to justify himself going a tad later than he wanted.

He got in trouble his freshman or sophomore year I think and actually got suspended and missed games at Alabama. Guy from Iowa had off the field issues too involving a dorm room incident years ago. Didn’t know anything about shi.
