It's all speculation at this time of the season, but honestly, considering last year's performance and our free agency efforts, were we expecting better?

You're wrong. It's all clickbait at this time.

Our free agency efforts?  What does that mean?  They did great in free agency.  They also knocked the draft out of the park.  How can anybody objectively look at the roster today and somehow say it is worse than the end of the season last year?

You're right. We shouldn't pay attention to the number of guys we picked up with serious history of injuries. There's not a bit of worry in picking up Sam Darnold after three years stuck  in the Jets penitentiary. Nothing to see there, move along citizen.

Pretty much all clickbait is speculation. It holds no water right now and it's all based on us not making any big splashes in free agency or the draft. We did what we did and it doesn't impress anyone at this stage in the game enough to actually say we're better than we were.

Hopefully when we get out on the field, we'll see that some really smart moves were made. But right now, from the outside looking in, we have more JAGs than the Jags. Of course, we did in August of 2003, too.

The ranking is about right (maybe too high) for a bunch of rookies, Sam Darnold, a new GM and a second year HC trying to turn around a losing franchise.

Panthers are going to have to demonstrate they're better than what they've been for the last 5 years before they get more respect.

Plus, rankings/opinions are meaningless.

Just win baby!

The Panthers are 2-6 against the Falcons since 2017 and Atlanta just improved their offense while Carolina is betting on Sam Darnold so yeah that's unfortunately fair until proven otherwise. As for Chicago I had to go look it up. We have beaten them one time in the last decade. https://www.panthers.com/history/series/carolina-vs-chicago#:~:text=All-Time Series%3A Panthers vs,all-time against the Bears.

Bears were a playoff team last season too.   And they added a promising draft pick to a position they got very little out of last year.  I mean, they should be ahead of us.

Tbh I would ignore all power rankings. It’s just one person posting content based on opinions.

I prefer looking at NFL futures for win totals as an “offseason power rankings.” That is where people/books put their money where their mouth is.

Btw most books have the around the 20-24 spot.

The Carolina Panthers have a lot to look forward to in 2021 and i am not buying into ESPN'S 25th power ranking for the team.

They have a  crop of impressive young talent, headlined by Christian McCaffrey, Brian Burns, DJ Moore, Jeremy Chinn and Derrick Brown is preparing to take the next step in their football journeys.

Their bountiful draft class is full of value and potential.  Heck, even seeing what Sam Darnold can do in here in Carolina could be fun.

Cardinals at 11, 49ers at 9, this list is poo. 2 non playoff teams in the top 12 for no real reason other than they think they might be better this year than last.

The 49ers moved up because they did not select a WR and they picked a QB who probably will not be ready for at least a year.

The cardinals moved up because they replaced 2 aging CBs with 2 rookie CBs. They dont even mention they lost their top pass rusher.

The list has no rhyme or reason, just gut feelings.

Objectively would technically mean actually seeing results. That’s why it’s speculation.

What quantifiable results from playing in the NFL do you have to say they knocked the draft out of the park? None.

It really isn’t that complicated. Please don’t be the one making ‘Fire everyone!’ threads during the season when in fact the draft may not turn out to be the best of all time ever.

    • I disagree. For better or worse Bryce likes to throw floaters to predetermined areas regardless of what the reciever is doing and bringing those down is XL's bag. I wanted Ladd but now I think this right call. Burners and slot recievers are a dime a dozen but legit jump ball specialists are not.
