I haven't heard chinn's name mentioned all camp... that is good as it means that he hasn't allowed and touchdowns or big plays, but I wonder if he is a better playmaker strictly as a LB/joker instead of a safety.

I think we should consider moving him back since our secondary is better than our linebackers. Chinn should be making plays... or maybe Sam is smart enough not to throw anything near him?

I assure you, Chinn has been mentioned during the pressers.

Yep, but those are very throws that freak people out about Darnold and why he has historically had a high number of picks. I agree, I'd rather have that than a pure game manager, but the picks will happen. Darnold will never be a 10 pick a season or fewer QB with the chances he takes.

Darnolds career high for INTs was 15....and that was his rookie year.

Yep and he has yet to play a full 16, now 17, game schedule.  His career average is just at 1 pick per start.  The math is pretty easy to extrapolate out over 16-17 games.

This is good.  They seem to really be working on the 2 minute drill and being successful at it.  But what is curious here is it was all to backups (or Rookie Terrace).  If this was against the first string D then even better.  But if it was against the backup D - why is that?  Did PJ run with the ones during the 2 minute drill at the end?

As good of a one-handed snag that Robby had, the throw was just a impressive.  Voth said 20+ yards, it was actually 30+ from my vantage point. Darnold was rolling right with defense hot on his heels and he threw cross field, across his body to Robby and still nearly overthrew him.

Now the scary part, you all do know the #1 cardinal sin for a QB?  Well, that was it and he threw it anyway.  Maybe he knew it was just practice and wouldn't have done that in a game situation.  It worked out and ended up being a beautiful play, but you still have to question Darnold's thought processes sometimes.

He's a gunslinger. They tend to lean toward those dangerous and sometimes extremely ill advised throws. When it is on, it's great. When it is off, it sucks.

Yes, #6 was running the 2-minute to wrap up practice and looked quite good.

Before anything is said:

It is not uncommon for the backups to get reps with the 1s. Fairly common practice in camp to see what the backups can do with the 1s in the event that Darold goes down, or flat out sucks this season lol. This is no indictment on Darnold by no means and will be the day 1 starter.

Rhule said Chinn would line up more as a safety, but he'll be used much like he was last year. Sometimes he'll be up on the LOS, sometimes he'll be deep, sometimes he'll be one-on-one with someone. In short, they're gonna put him in position to make plays.

I love you...  /jk
