Panthers are trading LB Denzel Perryman to the Las Vegas Raiders

I've never been more happy to see a player get traded.. I honestly was looking forward to Denzel being on the field along with the rest of the defense. Injuries have always been an issue but I felt like a hard thumping LB was definitely missing seeing as most of our LBs are pass rushers which is why we constantly get gashed on running plays(we really don't have any coverage linebackers either but all are decent in their perspective areas, 1 of the reasons why I wouldn't mind KJ).. regardless immediately recognizing your not getting anything on the field from a player and flipping that and getting something off the field is what a great GM does..something for nothing.. Im officially on the Fitt train and I feel like in the next few years we could be superbowl contenders with this logic..

Lastly one of the best spots that hit the waviers come time is LB(non 3-4 ends). Its like safety and teams count them beans hard at LB.

It would not shock me to see perryman cut by the raiders before week 1 either. Now they are on the hook to pay the millions in salary etc, not the panthers problem.

Last last one KC wright is still out there, according to the top 100 list...he was voted 67. Finesserere has the panthers (I believe) top 5 in cap space. I know it was 3rd before Robby Anderson signing. Still watchout for wright and the panthers *may wait til week one so they dont have to fully guarantee his 2021 salary.....

Do we have room this season to IDK... sign a good LT?

Just to play devil's advocate here, that means 3 of the top FAs signed this off-season at positions of need are injured (Erving), look bad (Elflein), or gone (Perryman). Not ideal.

True, I gave his FA signees 2/10.....but he had a early looking 9/10 draft to makeup for that. Honestly the FA is like the draft, hit on 2.5 out of 7........(two starters and one top backup/ST ace type) thats a good haul, thats the same for FA.

Lesser known fact, majority of free agents take one full year to produce like the team/GM/coaches intended.

Season has not started, but I agree Finesserer has to do better come FA....but ELf/Erv may play out of their minds this year, dont know til the real games start....odds are against them..

Fitts more of a college guy. I think with Dan Morgan coming in as our pro guy, next year we will do better with FA.

Josh Bynes was signed recently. 16 game starter for the Bengals. 99 tackles and 1 sack last year. Should fill in for the cheap experienced depth role we need nicely now.

Wasn't he carted off yesterday? I haven't seen any update on him today. I too thought he seemed like solid depth.

Flush any player who refuses the vaccine. Enough. No one is free in a society. We live in a society that is built on the smart keeping the foolish in line. Paranoid selfish idiots should have the LEAST "freedom" out of anyone. What could be worse for our society than people who are wrong and unintelligent but convinced they're right? Nothing when there is a crisis that depends on them making the right decision. Paranoid tinfoil hat wearing dolts should immediately be shipped to the local mental institution for the vaccine. People are dying and I've had enough.

    • You're not understanding what I'm saying. I'm saying that truly elite players will always have a market because they're elite difference makers and that at the "devalued positions" the NFL has discovered that those are spots where unless you have an elite talent there you have an opportunity to get similar results out of run of the mill talent for run of the mill money compared to good talent for good money. The drop off in overall unit performance isn't dramatic dropping down from "good" to "JAG" and it saves money to invest in the premium positions. It's about skill sets and what is hardest to find, simple supply and demand. There's just more serviceable LBs and RBs and safeties out there than their are CBs and pass rushers and QBs. And honestly, a big part of our historic lack of consistent success has been investing too many premium draft and cap resources into those devalued positions. Yeah, we've had a lot of great off the ball LBs and RBs on our way to be a franchise with an overall losing record. Pointing to our success at those positions is proving my point because I just point to our W-L record and overall lack of historical quality at premium positions like QB, WR, CB, etc. We've sucked in large part because we've valued the wrong position groups. In a vacuum it doesn't matter. But in actuality every high pick or big chunk of cap you spend on an off the ball LB or RB or IOL is a high pick or big chunk of cap you couldn't spend on a QB or CB or WR or OT.
    • Right before Kuechly retired, we had some of the worst D line play that year.  We were ranked 29th against the run in 2019.   I remember even Kuechly struggled to get off the blocks at times because the linemen were on second level so quickly due to our porous line made up of Kyle Love, Vernon Butler and a washed up Gerald McCoy.
    • fingers crossed for BlueSky embeds to come with the board update at least all the schedule reveals will be on the youtube
