These guys are clowns. All that drama for a guy who practiced like twice and got beat out of a starting role. There are much better reasons to question rhule and fitterers moves. This isn’t one of them.

Agreed. Much ado about nothing.

And his mush mouthed explanation of his source describing a nonsensical exchange between a player and Rhule was nothing.

Similarly from the poster's description of him being a "dictator" isn't this literally how about half the coaches in the NFL are described? That isn't an isolated thing.

I've never heard of him. I admittedly didn't watch as much NFL football in 2020 as I did in previous years.

In all honesty, I'm for signing or trading for anyone that can help the team. If you believe McGovern can do it, and his cost is reasonable, I'd say go for it.

For me, I just love the speed and length of Smith. He's almost a Kam Chancellor type of talent if used properly due to his measurables. With Chinn and Smith you'd almost have a Thomas/Chancellor dynamic. However we would be in a better position on the boundary with Horn than Seattle was with Sherman, in my opinion.

Of course neither option will happen. And I don't believe that Snow is a Bradley or the other DC (forgot his name).

The word on McGovern is that the Cowboys view him as a starting quality guard but they have too many people ahead of him.

I hate sounding like a broken record but all anybody who covers this team on social media or radio does is complain and create drama about everything.

That's what happens when losing becomes the norm and all fans have to talk about is the draft or the potential of next season. Yes some of it is aggravating but you can't blame the fans of the media for the product on the field.

I'm not blaming them for the product on the field. I'm blaming them for their reactionary tactics.

If there is anything to report the default mode it to spin it to the negative to rile up the reponses.

It's probably BS but who knows

I'd say there's a pretty good chance

Used to be the bullsh-t "I've got a source" stories came mostly from Guy With A Website. Anymore it's Guy With A Twitter or Guy With A YouTube Channel.

Still bullsh-t of course, just on a different medium.

Losing was the norm under the old braintrust.

The current one hasn't even been in place long enough to have a "norm" yet.

Agreed on the nature of social media which obviously thrives on negativity. But we just see more of it because it has been years since the team has been relevant for winning anything of significance. The Hornets social media pages aren't any better and they haven't been to two championships like the Panthers on top of losing the franchise once already.

Valid. But with all sports teams there is a honeymoon period and the one for this regime will officially end with the '21 season. If Darnold is a success the tide will turn and there will be a much needed boost of positivity. If not well things will start heating up like any other sports franchise.

Again, I'm not making definitive statements. The difference with FA though and particularly the guys signed is that there is already extensive film on them. Expectations can be reasonably set and thus far they're right on par with those performance-based expectations, which were fairly low.

Thus far based on one pre-season drive?

Ok.

Erving's been nicked throughout camp and Elflein's been unremarkable/unnoticed so yes, inclusive of that and camp in its entirety. This isn't complicated. No one is making a definitive statement but they both have years of performance to measure against and thus far are what they appeared to be.

Yeah, it would be different if they were out there crushing it in the preseason and there was some dramatic difference we were seeing. That hasn't been the case. When you have sucked for years, the onus is on you to prove you don't suck, not for everyone else to assume that you figured it out.

Sort of like Greg Little. After just one season it was pretty obvious was the situation was but we still had people holding out hope all that "potential" was going to be realized. Gotta show up and prove that poo.

Do we have room this season to IDK... sign a good LT?

Im afraid not, given there are only about 15 real LT, 10 OT trying hard, and 7 RT larping as LT. Its rare to have a true LT, better odds for a good QB than good LT.

Fitts more of a college guy. I think with Dan Morgan coming in as our pro guy, next year we will do better with FA.

Im not ready to call this FA class, my first reaction was very poor, but Im not form the future. About the only thing I liked was perryman and low salary mid-level players.... Arnold reports keep bring hope to save it, along solid play form DL play for Jones/Fox/Reddick along the line. If ERV&ELF just play average I will be amazed. No lie, Im still shocked his first "big" targets where ERV&ELF.

It is a good point about Dan helping the pro side form the panthers.

There was once a player in MLB who was traded for himself. He was part of a trade that involved a player to be named later (one of the many aspects of MLB that keeps me from never taking it seriously). He didn't work out with his new team so they shipped him back as the player to be named later. The Denzel Perryman saga with the Panthers reminds me of this.

There's a film with Marco Scutaro (A's legend) called A Player to Be Named Later. He went on to have a decent career and was an afterthought in a trade somewhere down the line. Fun times.

Sure!  Do you one one lying around somewhere?

Yeah, I guess I see the point... it's about as hard as finding a "good" NFL QB. Maybe the word I should have used was "serviceable"... is that on our roster currently? (why did you have to do the whole reverse psychology on me damnit!?) lol

    • I went to Canes games back in '04 & '05 when you were probably still a swimmer waiting to make your dad a father. There was no one there bc they sucked. Some of the lowest attendance in the NHL. As a Panthers fan coming off a SB season (03-04), I couldn't even believe they put a hockey team in Raleigh, and given the attendance, a lot of people speculated they would be relocated somewhere back up north where they would be supported and not "Mayberry." Seriously, educate youself.  That is reality. That being said, comparing that environment to 2024 Canes would be disingenuous. I was at PNC last year and know how great the current environment is. Comparing the current environment at BOA to 10 years ago is just as disingenuous.  Just bc you didn't witness how good BOA is when the Panthers are actually decent doesn't change reality. Seriously, surely you see that coming from such an elitist environment like the globally renowned world-class city of Raleigh, NC... I guarantee you if you went to a Canes game and a Panthers game in 2005, the difference would be unreal bc the Panthers were awesome and the Canes were (at the time) a moribund franchise. I have been in BOA when the whole stadium was rocking. You simply are young, don't know what you're talking about, but want to portray yourself as having knowledge about things you simply don't. You have a lot in common with modern day politicians and televangelists Like I said, Idiocracy has prevailed... Have a great day too!
    • Let it all out bro.   At the end of the day Charlotte fans just aren't that passionate as other fans. The Panthers and Hornets crowds are wack.    Go to a Canes game and you will understand this. Tell the family I said hi and Happy Father's Day.
    • Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. Best place to live?  LMAO... that's your criteria...  Charlotte gets put all over those lists too... come on man... and those lists have zero to do with sports. I'm done after this bc I'm punching down intellectually here... The Panthers have been bad for 6 years now. You are obviously young and not overly educated based off the "dunks" you're putting out there that certainly are, so let me educate you today on the Panthers. The Panthers sold out for well over a decade straight. BOA has been as good an environment as there is when the team is good.  Fan support for the Panthers has been incredible when the team has even remotely reciprocated. The idea that Charlotte doesn't support the Panthers is utter BS. People in Raleigh have the biggest little brother syndrome of all time... Nobody outside of the Triangle cares about any of your "vaunted" sports team outside of Duke-UNC in basketball on a national scale. Sure, the Canes are great. But nationally, the WWE dwarfs the NHL in ratings. More people care about Cody Rhodes than Sebastian Aho... or anyone else in the NHL for that matter... I doubt less than 5% of anyone in this state outside of Raleigh even knows who that is... that's a knock on Aho who is a great player, it's just the NHL barely makes a ripple in the overall hierarchy of American sports. It's not in the same universe as the NFL or NBA no matter how badly you want to tell yourself otherwise. Raleigh is not a big-time sports city, no matter how much you want to scream into the abyss about it. Neither is Charlotte. But no one here is making such a nonsense argument... LOL it's good to be young and to be ignorant enough to be confidently wrong... WTF are you even on this board though since Charlotte is so beneath you? There is an actual discussion board on this very site for Raleigh sports since they are so superior...  Maybe it's bc I'm watching Idiocracy with my son, but your timing is perfect, my man... The dumbest among us have become the most confidence in their ignorance... God Bless America!!
