If all goes well, defenses will have to stay home just to keep McCaffrey from 200yds a game.

CMC will help, but I think until we see what the Oline can do, the main thing will be to get the ball out fast.

And Peyton, Big Ben and Patrick Mahomes. But that’s the point. The post stated 99% of the teams play in Super Bowls have the best offensive lines and 1% is due to the team having a HOF QB. In reality, it’s the other way around.

Great point. CMC is our best weapon against our offensive line being overwhelmed by the pass rush.

I hope Brady calls one early against the Jets to give them something to think about.

For all their struggles Friday, perhaps the block blocking play may have been on that TMJ screen that went for paydirt

Pittsburgh brought the blitz all day and at times like in that series we picked it up.  If Darnold will use his checkdowns and CMC is one hell of a checkdown, I think he can do well against pressure. He slides well in the pocket and should improve his audibles as he gets more experience with the system.

Efficiency in scoring TDs in the final 1-2 minutes of a half is how games are won.  We certainly didn't see that last year.

Is the audible surprising? Who did Marshall play for at LSU for a year? 

Also, Darnolds throws in this game looked better than any single game I saw with the Jets. Even these preseason play calls make Adam Gase look like he should be the QB Coach for the UNC Tar Heels or something. Seriously, Sam didn't have to improvise to be good on Friday. It always seemed that his highlights in NY were improvisation.

I think you have to go after an elite OT, and I think it should be a first rounder because you don't sign elite LTs in free agency.  Ickey is already going to get paid $18m or so in 2026.    However, the money you save by not locking him down long term could go to a free agent edge or ILB.  It is very complicated if you start factoring in contracts, risks, cap, and the odds of recovery.

      Yes, we played the 2nd most cover 3 in the NFL behind the Raiders.   The flats and seams are the areas you want to attack it so its soft spots are areas qbs can hit quickly which can definitely hurt the pass rush.
