Too much CMC, bad coaching, will take the W.

YES! CMC is our star, and yes you feed your star, but... Joe Brady has THREE stud wide receivers, and a good TE. I know this is only the first game of the season, but honestly, Panthers should have won this game 27-7 or 34-7 easily. This coaching staff looked terrible in the second half, Rhule got outcoached by Robert Saleh, plain and simple. We have great weapons outside of CMC, so why in the F&*k did the coaching staff not find ways to get the ball to our WR's in the second half? The coaches should have emphasized the importance of the opening drive to start the second half, instead we come out and look completely flat. Credit to the Jets defense, they're pretty good, BUT... their weakness is their corners and we should have been taking more shots down the field.

A win is a win, I get it, wins are hard to come by in the NFL. Panthers were up 16-0 at halftime, had all the momentum, then got outplayed and outcoached in the second half by a freshman team (an NFL freshman team, but freshman team nonetheless). Sam Darnold looked lights out in the first half, but the second half the whole offense looked stagnated just by play calls. I realize that Darnold is still developing chemistry with these receivers, and figured we would get a heavy dose of CMC this first game. Here's the thing... we'll be no better than we were last year if we don not find other playmakers on this team, and play CONSISTENTLY. I'll take this win, ugly as it was, but Rhule and Brady really need to show me more. The second half of todays game they looked like college coaches.

Really wanted to see them trust him to throw the daggers needed to put them away early. Hopefully the sheltering won’t last all season.

Yeah, they sure didn't seem like a confident bunch in the second half. We were dominating the first half, I just don't get it.

This. You can open it up if you want to, but that puts more film out there. Good Thing/Bad Thing. We won, so keep some of those big plays in your pocket for later.

There are things to like and I'm happy with the win but if we show up like we did in the second half against the Bucs or Saints it's going to get out of hand fast. Don't get the hapless Jets for 16 more weeks. If you look at the best offenses in the league they are not one dimensional yet Carolina seems to be hellbent on this even if it means running McCaffrey into the ground. CMC is not built to be what they are wanting to use him as which is a battering ram. It didn't work for long with Superman who was built like a specimen and it isn't going to work here. Sorry but that's the rub.

Same thing I said in the game thread: you have to test those corners.

I wasn't a fan of the play calling.  Just seemed to take the foot off the gas and go to Fox Ball (or Rivera play-not-to-lose mode). 

Our offensive philosophy got it done against the Jets , but most teams would've made us pay and  kicked our ass.

Yup, especially on third downs.  You ain't fooling anyone by putting him in the backfield on obvious passing downs, so you might as well line him up wide and try to get a mismatch with a safety.

      this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.

      The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.

      My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
