Saints are coming into this game just ready to get destroyed. Two offensive starters out, two defensive starters out, two more defensive starters questionable, and very well could be out. The backups to the defensive starters that are out are also questionable! This is our chance to take out our frustration from the last few years and completely embarrass them. Panthers 31 Saints 13. We will get some attention after this win and we start the season 2-0!

This is a big game for Sam and I hope he is ready. We are basically putting it in his hands and this will be his first test to see if he has what it takes after 3 wasted years with the jets.

I don't want to sound coddling,  but I agree with the coaches that no one has ever taught him correctly so I am just going to evaluate his progress this week even if we don't win. He needs to perform at the basics of his craft and then the confidence will come and the wins with it.

Exactly.   Though I think it would be somewhat of bitter pill to swallow if the Panthers cannot win against a depleted Aints team, especially at home.

Hope to see those missed endzone TD passes become actual TD passes this time around.  

We need all the TDs we can get.

OLine holds up better than expected;  meanwhile, the Saint O-Line deals with a REAL D-Line and cannot handle them. 

It's close until the 4th quarter until the Panthers score to make it a 2 TD lead. Panthers take advantage of a couple of Winston interceptions along the way that lead to a couple of TDs. 

 

(sorry but Raleigh's Negative-Nancy act won't cut it here!)

LET'S GO PANTHERS (or is it Cats around here?)

      By all indications, the surgery was "minor." I know with all surgeries and especially back surgery there can be complications, but I think the whole time Tremble did this with the expectation he would be able to be back for Week 1 It sounds like he will be ready to start back in team drills next week. He's a veteran who knows the system so I'm sure that helps. I still can't imagine he will play a normal workload early on though

      Maybe. He was pretty good in college before a bad injury. He had a good preseason last year as a UDFA in Washington and was on their practice squad all year so they obviously saw something worth developing. He signed a futures deal with the Panthers earlier this year, and everything about him has been increasingly positive. Tremayne has gotten a decent amount of time with the ones, and a lot with the twos for someone that doesn't have a chance. He's the only other 6'4" plus WR on the team, plays ST, and is a more natural backup to the X receiver position than David Moore. That was my thinking behind it. But he may well end up as one of the last roster cuts. If so, I do hope they can bring him back to the PS. But I personally think there's a good chance he could be claimed given his ST ability and what hes shown at WR.

      That was my thought originally, but so many of the beat writers have mentioned keeping 7 WRs in conversations that I went with that, at least for the purposes of this projection. But you're right that historically defensive guys who were standouts at ST have tradionally gotten those last spots
