When I see posts that we could have had this guy or why are we not picking up a better this guy at that position, I think... "We can't have everybody we want now". It takes time to build a complete team from scratch. For a new HC, OC and DC to get use to coaching in the NFL. It takes time to clear the dead cap space and bad contracts and build from the draft. It takes time for a young team to build an identity. Ours I believe will be a great defense and a quick hitting offense. 

I believe they see 2021 as another step towards that. With Brady and the Bucs dominating and the Chiefs and few other teams at their peak, are we really going win a SB this year? IMO, this year is "hope we can at least win enough games" to come close to a wild card birth and maybe even sneak in. That would build team character and make the fan base start to really believe in the team. I think 2022 is a big step year with 2023 on being, we can compete for a SB run and hopefully win it. 

It takes a philosophy and a culture, which Rhule brings. It takes solid depth to overcome injuries, not just having superstars. And it's impossible to have superstars at every position. Darnold may not be the franchise guy but he needs at least another year and a better O-line to really know. We tried to get other QBs and it didn't work. He was a high reward - low risk investment at the time and might turn out pretty good. I said might.

Fans are impatient. I would rather build a perennial winner than have the 1 year good, then 2 years bad past (that's what it felt like). But I'm jealous watching the Chiefs and how loud their fans are, or other good teams. The Panthers need to build that consistency to win back the fans and the confidence that they can win most if not almost all games, especially at home. The Chiefs, Seattle, GB, Patriots, etc have home field advantage. We need that. After the music stopped on defense at 20 seconds, the stadium crowd was so low compared to the Georgia fans (2 weeks before) that were more than double the volume with 1/2 the stadium of fans.

All this takes time.

This is the Huddle.  No room here for that type rational thinking! The team must contend now at all costs.  

Huddlers must bash every decision made by the organization because they know more than people in charge.   Not only are the Huddlers masters of the draft, they are, cap savants, can see into the future, and have guts with feelings so in-tune with the universe, they can sense the slightest hiccup in the football “force”.  Some may even be full fledged gridiron Jedi’s!

Most people would say that hindsight is 20-20, but some of these guys actually have 20-10 or even 20-00 hindsight.  They can focus down so intently at trades, signings, or cuts from the past that were colossal failures, and and see every nugget of information that pointed to that being the wrong decision.

How some of these guys have not risen to the ranks of GM, head coach, team owners, or even commissioner of the NFL, I’m stunned!

I guess sometimes the universe is hell bent on keeping  the good ones down…….

Playoffs next year or rhule’s on the hot seat for me. This team is extremely talented we’re just young. Tons of cap space next year as well.

We have a generational talent at RB that is in his prime. We need to win soon or we will just have to start another rebuild 3 or 4 years from now.

Next years goal should be a deep playoff run. The team currently has a ton of young talent and a boat load of cap space. Have another Successful draft and back up the brinks truck for actual talented offensive linemen. After that they have to decide to either extend Darnold or restart the QB search.

The best super bowl windows are when you have a ton of talent on rookie contracts mixed with your established vets. This team as it’s currently constructed has 2 to 3 more years until the majority of our young promising players are due up for big pay days.

I can appreciate the effort but you can just spare me the spiel about armchair GM's and fans not knowing anything. Seen it with Gettleman seen it with Hurney seen it with Rivera seen it with Fox. We will not know until at least 2023 if we will finally snap the no back to back winning seasons curse. As it stands this team has plenty of young talent. The question mark areas are the same they've always been. There is still enough there for us to compete and begin kicking some ass in our division though. And that at minimum is what I expect for this season. If we can't even do that expect the lame excuses to be met with ridicule bc as much as I like Rhule I am tired of the Panthers being a doormat.

Rivera inherited a much worse dumpster fire (2-14) and had us in the playoffs   his 3rd year (12-4). The clock is ticking.

The team is nowhere near as bad as people are claiming. We’re just young but full of talent. Year 3 for me is when it needs to be put together. The only way we should miss the playoffs in year 3 is if the qb situation is bad. And that would be on Rhule.

This team won five games last year under a new staff who dealt with Covid protocols. We were in just about every game we played, within one score. 
 

With more talent this year and time for the coaches to adjust to NFL life I expect 8-9 wins and excitement about at least being in the playoff hunt. Our future is bright, just have patience.
