But why do I still see Ian Thomas on the field? Ian has had zero impact in three years.

I’m not an Ian defender but go back and watch Trembles run. Without Ian’s block, that is a three yard loss. Sometimes things players add don’t show up on the stat sheet.

Ian Thomas is pretty much the one personnel decision that Rhule and co have made that I just don't understand at all.

He offers so little (albeit he did throw a nice block on the Tremble TD run!) and hasn't even flashed during these three years.

Remember that Kyle Pitts is either the best, generational or at least the highest rated Tight End ever for some draft scouts.

Tommy Tremble 1 TD

Kyle Pitts 0 (insert crying Jordan here)

Touchdown aside, once Tremble gets 2 seasons under him I think he will be in the top 5 mix at Tight End in the league.

Pitts isn't a TE. He looks even less like a TE stood next to NFL athletes. He's a big WR.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
