Fitterer just got a first round CB for a third round pick, and people are wringing their hands about draft picks in 2022?! LOL. We'll be fine! We'll either get the picks back, or we'll be more active in FA.

Listen I dont think anyone is poo pooing this trade.  A few of us are looking big picture at how we are going to fix the line going forward.  We used FA this offseason to try and fix it but you see how that is working.  Not having a day 2 pick is pretty big and I am not sure how you are going to get those picks back outside of trading down in the first.  Which I would hate to do if there is a tackle within range.

I do love the trade just playing devils advocate on how we can make the line better.

Lol salary cap is going up next year

We can give Reddick and Donte 3 year deals and DJ 4yrs bc he's special.  And keep this core together to win right the fug NOW

Darnold was legit popular at USC, whatever happens the rest of this year is cake, he's getting experience at 24 til seasons end in a great system. Next year the Panthers are gonna be the trendy pick again and we're all gonna be annoyed lol

Holy fuging poo this is amazing

Dan Arnold was a back up TE on other rosters. We just gave them a guy that gets 3 catches a game + a 3rd round pick for their #9 pick from last season.

We now have the CBs that were picked #9 in back-to-back draft on the rosters.

I am so friggin excited for next season already, but I've still got this one to enjoy.

Freaking Horn, Jackson and now Henderson as our potential starting CBs moving forward?!?  Holy poo!  And I don't think this necessarily means we don't re-sign Donte.  We've got tons of cap space moving forward and a great secondary is key to having a great D in the NFL today.  I put NOTHING past Fitterer and Rhule these days.  These boys do their damn jobs!!

And think that without Horn we will still be rocking Henderson, Bouye and Jackson.

Getting CJ is great also because he fits our system much better than Jackson. I think long term Jackson will be our slot CB. We like to let our safeties jump routes and have the CBs take over the deep coverage, and Jackson is not suited to do that due to his height/speed limitations. CJ and Horn are the perfect CBs for our funky system because they can cover more ground and get deep in a hurry with long strides.

    • Very Odd, seems someone is lying about the "love" between Seattle and canales.  I did read some about B.johnson and he said he wanted a stable good job and that 5 out 8 teams that filled this past season, will be open again in three years. I somewhat get his point, but he's lost millions the past two years waiting. Plus great job are never open cause great team don't fire their HCs. He put lots of time and sweat into the lions and wanted to enjoy the good times longer.    I do think tepper made other coaches not want to be here. That all-star staff had as you stated had connections around the league and coaches are no different when someone contracts them and goes " How was it Carolina ??'.... " Love the area, hated the work environment/owner". They did get Brian Callahan to interview and had a 2nd one lined up, but in just one interview titans hired him. I'd much rather had him or just name evero HC instead.  Nobody wanted Ron Rivera either and he interviewed everywhere. No one wants this job..... even the jags got recent SB winning Doug Peterson.... I truly think Carolina coaching rep is in the dump and they fuged up waiting for Callahan. Panic move. This is my pure guess too, Jim Caldwell is the acting/real HC and canales is the OC.
    • I go back to the hole the Panthers put themselves in and his positive track record with getting production from ‘problem’ QBs. Which, we have one.  I go to the idea people were putting forth on these younger HC prospects - that maybe you take a guy early and let him grow and give him all the help you can. Like a QB go figure. I think that is pretty much where it is right now. I think Canales could be good.
    • It's like with Friterer was the same as Canales. 'He's a great guy' and everyone loves him but Seattle had a HC opening with ties and no interview, even with a playoff appearance in a weak NFCS to boost his name. The NFL is all about ties and connections. It's so much more a small pond than most sectors could be so the corporate NFL bs is sooooo much thicker. All of those openings and no HC interviews? B Johnson is an anomaly, like a Kiffin, where usually you have guys that will go whereever to take a promotion even if it looks terrible for a distance, Wilks to Arizona comes to mind. It's weird and interesting how the NFL mirrors and then deviates from the rest of corporate America in their MOs.
