Panthers about to trade for CJ Henderson?!?!

This is a roll of the dice type move by the Panthers.  I am extremely curious why Jax would trade him for so little if there weren’t major issues with his level of desire.

It absolutely isn't his physical profile and speed.  Dude is a stud athletically no doubt

We sweetened the deal with superstar Dan Arnold. But for only a 3rd and they would have to give us a 5th to ease the pain of losing such a huge part of our offense.  How could they say no to that?

Jacksonville: we'll take no less than a 2nd for Henderson.

Fitterer:  a 2nd isn't available.

Jacksonville:  oh. Well, Dan Arnold?

Fitterer:  yeah, Dan Arnold.

The Jags apparently wanted Arnold badly in FA..whatever that tells us.  They needed a TE.  If CJ plays to his ability this is the Lufthansa heist.

If not hey, not the end of the world.

I doubt we will come out this trade worse than we were going in. The kid is too talented not to take a chance on.

Just watched the highlights of the Jags - Broncos game.

Henderson gave up a TD to Patrick and never returned to the game. He was listed as out with an 'illness' and a 'minor groin injury' for Week 3. He was absolutely loafing on the highlights though - clearly didn't want to be there and was quite clearly benched.

Rhule has a major rebuild on his hands here - the talent is there, but he's going to have to get inside the kid's head and flip a switch.

Is there still a chance something happens and the trade doesn’t go through, or is it already a done deal? I don’t want to get hyped up only to be super disappointed.

Yes, Henderson or Arnold could fail their physical and the trade would be dead but that rarely happens.

Sounds like a bad environment in general over there I can only imagine what the locker room is like. If he can't thrive here it isn't going to happen. Rhule will coach him up.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
