We have a REAL shot to run the table on

PHI

MIN

NYG

ATL

that puts this team in STRONG position for the playoffs

It is well known, defenses travel in January

To me, if we win against the Eagles, Vikings, and Patriots, then we are a playoff team.  Those teams should all be .500 teams by the end of the year I think.  If we are better than that tier, then we are likely going to the playoffs.  We go on a run the next few weeks, then I can see us finishing 10-12 wins.

Sustained success from season to season is the goal.  Championships are the ultimate goal but the more you win the more playoffs you make, the more shots at a title you get.

Yep. The only teams that go into “win now” mode are the ones that are virtually already playoff teams with aging super stars that go all in filling holes before the window closes. It doesn’t always work and can leave a dumpster fire in its wake.

Playoffs is possible but what few are mentioning is that our biggest obstacle is the same as it has been over the past few years - our division rivals. Far too many bad losses have kept us away and if we want playoffs this year, beating Brady at least once is all but a prerequisite. We can't do that, then this team isn't ready.

If we get to the playoffs, then it's impossible to predict, especially since it will be the first time under Rhule. I'll be impressed if we do it in year 1.5 (I don't count 2020 as a full year because COVID) since my expectation was year 3.

We have a weak schedule this year and haven't been winners since Tepper took over.

You might as well take a shot this season when things are in your favor.

It's a business and making the playoffs helps everyone from Tepper as the Owner, Rhule  as the new coach coming from college to the pros, the decision to go with Darnold, building a new facility, floating the need for a new stadium and on and on and on.

I'm fine with moves like this. I mean, we traded a 6th round pick from two years from now. We didn't exactly hamstring ourselves. Hell, we might end up getting that pick back or possibly even upgrading that pick via a comp pick if we let him walk in FA.

Yeah no trade we have made except for Darnold really cost us much. We will at some point as well not need as many picks as we had this year.

A couple of plays (mainly officiating calls) here or there and we could have beat the Cowboys. I'm far from giving up on a playoff,  no f that,  Superbowl season. This is a very talented group,  assembled quickly,  by dudes smarter than us. Let's just see how it goes.

For f*cks sake this trade was such a great move. It’s not a win-now move it’s just a great grade. Gilmore is a low risk high reward rental for the rest of the season until Horn gets healthy. If he balls out, they can consider re-signing him. If he sucks or gets hurt, they still could get a 5th round comp for him which is HIGHER than the pick they traded for him. It’s win win win win all around.

Agreed but we really need to win every game in this stretch. If Tampa could lose a few more CBs that would be great too. 🤣🤷‍♂️
