Yeah another loss sucks and the world seems like it's about to end. Still we have a easy schedule ahead and the eagles were almost as good a team as the Cowboys. Yes both are Avg teams but sometimes when injuries bite and you're a avg team this happens. Things are not as lost as some might think and even could end up better than expected. Here are some of my thoughts moving forward. 

 

1.Oline: This is by far the worst Oline I have seen a team field ever but Rhule is being forced by injuries to play guys who could be good to great in the future. We will consistently see teams run stunts on us because the Texans wrote the roadmap to beating our line. Dallas definitely perfected it and Philly just copied their paper. The Good news is we actually have the right Tackles where they should be now. If Brady and Rhule are smart they will leave it that way. We need to leave it and let the line gel. I would also like to see Brown beside Moton but I'm guessing injury is the only way we will. 

 

2. Defense: while they really are not to blame for our losses getting our new CBs up to speed will take a few weeks. I feel we will see those TDs slowly become less and less with Henderson ,Jackson, and Gilmore gel. It's not ideal to be rebuilding early season but we can't help JC went down. 

 

3. CMC: I really can't tell you how much he effects the game. Our loss today prob would have been a win if he was in there. Darnold is not ready to take a team on his back much less with a Oline not fit to block for a ACC team. Getting McCaffrey back will be a huge boost. Add in Tommy Tremble and we will have a pretty good attack when he's back. 

 

 

So yes my prediction is still the same. Yes I don't think a big losing streak is coming. I see us taking on a struggling Vikings team pretty well. Our next big test will be the Patriots and will be the bar on how well we have come. So don't melt down, know we are a building team that is probably going to end up around. 500 and relax and just enjoy the ups and downs of the rest of the season.

Honestly our secondary other than fuggin Franklin played well today.  Everyone asks about Henderson...did you hear his name called?  No, that's a good thing....he wasn't beat today.  Jackson played really well overall....our defense was great.

Our offense and special teams lost this game.  The ST coach should be fired, Daley and Miller need to be on the sideline and Brady and the coaching staff have to decide what kind of offense we can run with the protection Sam is afforded.  The offense played like crap, Sam played like crap, ST were crap and Franklin who isn't an NFL starter continued to play like crap...hell where is Russ Cockrell when you need him.

Eagles as good as the Cowboys? How do you figure?

No matter how you want to spin it we should not have lost this game. 
 

We were supposed to be piling up wins now because we probably won’t win much at the end, doesn’t look possible now. 
 

And the Pats had to come back from ten down to beat the lowly Texans.

      I know it's only been training camp and one preseason game, but I think T-Mac has already shown his floor to be exactly what I said about him in the pre-draft process. That his floor if he never improves his game, is as one of the best #2 WRs in the NFL, if not even still a low end #1 (i.e. a 25th-ish best WR in the league). I think it's safe to say he's already established himself as our #1, and there are only a small handful of teams in the league where I don't think he'd be their starting #2 WR in Week 1. Bengals (Higgins), Dolphins (Waddle), Eagles (Smith), Bucs (Godwin if healthy), Rams (Adams) are really the only teams where I think he'd be the #3 as a rookie in Week 1.  A few others like the Lions (Williams), Bears (Odunze), Seahawks (Kupp), Commanders (Deebo), where he'd be the 2b to start the season, just because they're vets and/or already have a year or two of experience with their team/QB. And even having said that, I think by year 2, he's better than every one of those players (And no, I'm not saying he's already going to be better than a prime version of Adams, just whatever he'll be at 33 next year), and same goes for Kupp, but that's more because it seems like his body might be quitting on him in a way that hasn't happened to Adams (yet).

      Well to be fair, Horn not practicing right now to let his stitches heal up from a car accident isn't something that should be concerning.  Sure, you don't want him missing practice leading into the season, but it's one that once healed, won't have lingering affects or fear of re-injuring it, it was just bad luck.

      Quality backups are absolutely important. This franchise has been plagued with depth problems. That said, there is a little bit of dismay that Mays can't beat out a 1-legged man, and all the talk going into the off-season was how BC would certainly be gone since he had position versatility.  In the end, it doesn't matter too awfully much, as I would be shocked to no end if Corbett makes it through the season. We know what we have in reserve, and that should surely be better than trying to sign random fat guys mid season to try and take over.
