I keep seeing this. What I don't see is an offensive game plan, that seems to believe it as well. If Brady can dial up deep balls that end in ints he for damn sure can run a sluggo or a slant and wheel.

I mentioned it in another thread, but it's like he is experimenting and refuses to try anything different than what he's set on, going into the game.  Either that, or it's the gameplan he had going into the game and much like our staffs that preceded this one, they are going to run it whether you stop it or not and couldn't give a damn about the outcome.  And I say that because these last two games, when they are pressuring you immediately and pushing up field with no hesitation, you have to do something to make them back off - screens, smoke screens, reverses, jet sweeps, end arounds and anything else that stretches the defense from sideline to sideline.  I've seen successful NFL teams run a bulk of their plays using lateral/horizontal concepts against such aggressive defenses, and eventually they have to slow down or back off...  the other option is chucking it deep.  It may not be successfully converted everytime, but if you come close enough, they have to respect it and back off, which would at least open up the stuff underneath.  What we currently are doing is compressing the field and plays into the strengths of these teams that are super aggressive.  So until Brady starts making some adjustments, we're gonna keep having the same issues.

Welp. Perhaps it’s bc in order to run a double move or a stutter you have to have more than 1.2 seconds before pressure is in your face.

Throws like that require distance and accuracy. Distance and accuracy require time.

Give Darnold time…you will get more double moves.

We’re a year away bc we tried spent another year building the D.

My point is that you still run them… it causes the DBs to not sit on the routes. Not all routes are run to be thrown to.

I think Ron was actually better at in game adjustments than Rhule.

25th in the league in 2nd half points....

Tbf to Rhule and Brady, tho... we have played the incredibly dominate defenses of the Jets, Saints, Texans, Cowboys and Eagles. All of which are in the bottom half of the league when it comes to points allowed(besides the saints who were missing 2 starting CBs and their MLB at the time). Oops.

Shouldn't expect them to be able to score on those elite defenses.

The reason Sam takes so long is because the receivers aren't open.  It doesn't matter if we actually THROW to Robby on the double move.  The purpose is to make the receiver RESPECT the deep throw so Robby can cut short and BE OPEN.

Secondly ball placement and TT  are not linearly aligned.
TT<>IAY

Tom Brady has the 3rd shortest time to throw, but the 10th highest in intended yards per attempt at 9.1.

You can throw deep earlier, it just has to go a bit higher to have just enough air time for the wr to get there.  The challenge is if you loft too much, defenders have time to get there too, so you have to lead the receiver so that he is full speed when he meets the ball.

Weellll....about that :

As a playcaller, you have to listen to what your players are saying. That doesn't mean you always do what they want, but they give you a perspective that you can't get from the sidelines - so you have to strongly consider what they're telling you.

Believe me if Robbie's yelling it like that, then it's already been discussed among the position group. You ain't going Super Sayan without your boys backing you.

Robby could be right, but with his sloppy route running and the dropsies, given the fresh new contract, he is probably the last guy on this group who can pout and scream on the sideline.
Not all balls thrown his way were catchable. But when if you can touch it, you can catch it. That's what good receivers does, constantly.
If he thinks that football is only about go routes and deep bombs, and that's the only plays he's supposed to put in the effort, maybe he has to rework his contract in order to reflect it.

Relax dude.  We know it was a bad pick.  He went for the longer throw. The Thomas throw would have been a five yard toss to slow unreliable receiver with no YAC to speak of, with 70 yards to go ftw in 2 minutes.   BTW  its 1st and 20 and a quite likely incomplete to Thomas would have made it 2nd and 20.   Had he threaded the needle we wouldn't be talking about it, but he didn't, so we get to see you post pictures of it over and over in frustration.    Sam had his first bad game under multi year record setting pressure.

Lets see how he responds.

BTW I've watched how jets fans respond to Zach Wilsons progress.  They turned on him quick too even though he had been sacked 15 times in 3 games.  smh

There's always the chance that if Robby could just get open on the routes they've assigned him, he'd be given more and different routes to experiment with. The dude has been half-assing it since the middle of last season to the point where he not only rarely gets open, he doesn't even serve as a decoy.

2/30 on seven targets man. Eleven targets for 5/46 the week before. Two targets for one reception and eight yards against Houston. Three receptions on six targets for 38 yards against NO. One reception on three targets in his revenge game vs the Jets for his lone touchdown and 57 yards.

Dude, catch more than half your targeted passes before ranting. Get open more to get more targets. The world ain't just go routes.

The longer throw was in triple coverage get a grip. Zach Wilson is a rookie Sam is in his fourth year still making the same mistakes. Raise your expectations.
