We've never had back to back winning seasons.  The Panthers franchise just turned 28 years old.  In 26 seasons, this team has never put two winning seasons together.  Never.  It doesn't matter the coach, the players, the philosophy, even the owner - sustained mediocrity is all they've ever achieved with some playoffs and two SB appearances from fantastic outlier seasons.

They are who we thought they were.  It may take awhile for a new coach and system to settle in, but in reality they've never done diddly poo consistently.

Ron was pedestrian and his QB and MLB were able to drag him into more than mediocrity. Maybe Rhule finds something more but there is no indication yet he has more at this time.

Picking 1st and getting a franchise QB changes everything. If Rhule found that he would be doing a lot better but he went in the other direction.

Rivera was and is a mediocre coach that was carried by Cam and Luke.  Tell me when we had back to back winning seasons.   He was slightly better than Fox sometimes and slightly worse the rest of the time.  But I think we are destined to have these type of coaches it seems.

At least Rhule appears to know how to build a roster. Even if we are sucking ass right now, its still more refreshing then a rehash of Fox ball.

If only quality football were determined by precedence... It's an existential equation where you try to find the constants that work, if any.  The equation is off in this 2021 version of the Panthers.  Nothing prior changes that trajectory.

Marty Hurney was like the only GM to fly to Oregon to see Justin Herbert while everyone else was locking down.

Marty was about to move heaven and earth to get Herbert here. Rhule was like nah, we good.

That was the end of his coaching career in an instant. That was his Cam Newton opportunity. Instead he says no and kicks Cam out if HIS locker room.
