Lol right?  It takes time for WRs to develop unless they are Chase-level talents.  Davante Adams in Year 1 and 2 ain't anywhere close to Davante Adams of today.

But yeah, let's blame the coaching staff because our rookie WR isn't fully developed yet.

Round 2 picks should not be healthy scratches this late in the season.

But a lot of them are.  And many of those that are end up being very good players.  Sometimes coaches do this because they want to try a different lineup.  Sometimes they do it because they want to send a message.  Sometimes a little bit of both.

Lots of gigantic over reactions in this thread.

Also, teams who have a losing record the year before shouldn't be taking projects. They need immediate contributors. The guys in the first 3 rounds should be contributing, not riding the pine behind Daley or freaking inactive. That is a systematic failure from this offseason and it's looking larger as the year goes on.

Name me some. List some of these many guys who were 2nd round picks and late season healthy scratches as rookies who later ended up very good.

It’s not an good sign….but let’s also remember we are sitting him to play another rookie. It could be grasping the playbook and blocking assignments which Smith is ahead of.

Maybe.  It could also mean that we aren't going to be throwing the ball as much, but Shi Smith could be used more on special teams, and we might run a few reverses and such with him.
