Draft order if the season ended today (pretty weird)

It won't hold. We'll pull some late season W out of our ass to tank our draft position and save Rhule's job. It's the Panthers way.

Week 18 against the Bucs. They’ll be resting starters. Probably have the division locked up but no way to improve their position.

Very little reason to tank this year with no sure-fire QB to target. As long as we get a top OL prospect like Charles Cross or Tyler Linderbaum (which should be doable in the top-10) I'm good with waiting for a QB next year.

With Rhule likely coming back it's not out of the realm of possibility that we end up in position to take a top QB in 2023. Hopefully the OL has improved by then, too.

Unless Cam gets a better grasp of this offense I am not very optimistic we win any more games this year, Maybe Atlanta, possibly New Orleans but, I think we look to 2022 and shore up the O-Line.

Bittersweet… the higher in the 1st round Carolina goes, the more the 2nd round pick Carolina sent to the Jets for Sam Darnold is worth.

Suck really bad and that 2nd round pick will be knocking on the 1st round’s door.

Detroit and Philly also have other 1st rounders later in the round.

It’s sad to think that all the rebuilding teams seem to have multiple firsts/multiple day 2 picks (couple of them are our old picks) and we are right there with them at the bottom yet we traded away our 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounders. It’s like we just don’t realize we are bad and rebuilding. Draft day 2 is going to effing suck.

this current cast also seems like they make desperation moves.  Giving Teddy a big deal.  Yeah, he wasn't great but the logical move was still to let him play out year 2 and bring in a young kid.  But no we just ate cap space because he said things that were true.  Darnold's 5th year option was literally fake confidence.  Even Cam coming in to a degree was desperation by this FO.   I mean just because I like that one doesn't mean it doesn't apply there too.

I have no doubt they do something dumb in this draft.  Probably mortgage more of our future for some picks today.   Giving someone else a great deal.

Dude chill. The options are very limited. What route you trying to go? Signing some bridge QB for a one lame duck season and drafting a QB to sit for a year then investing high picks in an oline  in 2023 seems legit to me.

Unless we do all of the above except reverse and wait for 2023 for a qb and invest in oline now but I mean the Panthers have ONE pick in the top 150.

But either way, as shitty as the 2022 qb class is next year I feel someone is going to work out and at a great value too.

This is supposed to be a strong Oline, but weak QB draft. The smart move is to play to the draft's strengths and take Oline with that first round pick. Instead of doing the smart thing, I think the Panthers will overdraft a QB so Tepper has something to sell to fans or trade back to recoup some of those spent picks and go with more defense.

Give me Charles Cross in 1st. LT is the hardest and most expensive spot to fill. I’ve seen him go around 15 in some mocks. Even better if we can trade back a few spots and add a 3rd. Losing that 2nd for Darnold hurts now.

Sign a center, start Brown and kick the tires on Cody Ford. That should be an affordable and good OL.

Cross/Ford/FA/Brown/Moton

Erving/Eflein/BC provide good depth & versatility

You know, that really hurts not have an early 2nd and early 3rd, heck and a second early 4th. As much as we’ve ignore OL the past 3 drafts and passed on serious marquee OL talent for a reach T, luxury picks and a position that is normally UDFA, we really put ourselves in a hole to be able to fix the OL. We have to hope that BC and Brown can be serviceable otherwise we are probably in year 3 of Moton’s extension before we might have all the spots filled with not crappy vets.

Yep. The previous regime thought Cam was good enough to get by with a weak line even when the injuries were starting to mount. The new guys seem to think they're smarter than everyone else and can coach up former first round picks that busted or flopped elsewhere several times as well as thinking versatility was more important than having guys that could do the job well.
