Nobody talking about Minshew?

1. Even Darnold looked good against the Jets.

2. Minshew's problem has always been consistency. He'll look great a couple of games, then look terrible. You want to see it for more than one week. If anything, his performance today might cause Hurts's ankle to need a little more time to heal.

He's played for the JAGS!  Is that the organization you want to judge for consistency?  Really?

The stat you need to understand is that for the two years Minshew was in Jacksonville they only won 7 games.  However, despite benching him repeatedly they won ZERO games with him on the bench.

Here's a little deeper dive into his stats:

There are three stats there which I find interesting.

One, his completion percentage.  It increased dramatically in year two.  That's a great sign for a young QB growing into the NFL.

Two, his TD%.  At 4.6 for his career, it looks very much like another QB who is good but not great, Ryan Tannehill.    Good but not great?  I can stand a bit of that.

Three, his INT%.  At 1.4 for his career, it's amazing.  Rodgers is one of the best you'll ever see at not turning it over, and his career average is 1.3%.  Tom Brady is at 1.8%.

Completes the ball, throws TD's, doesn't throw picks?  Yes please.

Big fan of his.  I wanted him way, way more than Darnold.  For reference, take a look at the guy we traded for on those same stats.

Minshew his rookie year, 16tds-5int the following year, def has shown more than most your JAG qbs

Definitely  a jag Qb.. I'm glad he had a okay rookie year.. Still he is a backup with little to no physical talent to speak of.. If you want a poor man's Ryan Fitzpatrick have at it..

Idk how that qualifies as ok when most your top picks are generally throwing more ints than tds out the gate. I’d like to see Minshew get the chances guys like Sam and Teddy got before I’d label him a career backup

Your posting stats without context, he put up a bunch of garbage time numbers while getting beat by double digits. Both Luton and Glennon came in and also had good games statistically.

That's your opinion.. I think he got 2 years to prove he was the QB and played them into Lawrence .. Again he was undrafted for a reason.. I don't understand why you can't see the limitations in having a QB with below avg. Arm talent and way below avg. Physical attributes... This is way he wasn't as wanted by most teams and why he isn't worth what other QB are.

    • I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.
    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
