Derrick Brown’s thoughts

Stuff we're seeing from the players lately makes me wonder if Rhule isn't preaching an "us against the world" sort of philosophy in the locker room. That's the kind of thing desperate coaches do sometimes.

In reality, "the world" isn't against the Panthers. It's just against their stupid coaching.

that generally doesn’t involving crying on social media because you can’t own the fact you can’t get past 5 wins.

Matt Rhule is like a disease.  It’s spreading.

Then you have Daley talking about what's "not his job". I just think it's an utter lack of an accountability due to an utter lack of leadership.

I think everyone knows this situation is unsalvageable and it's manifesting in an "every man for himself" attitude.

Most people balked at the Deshaun Watson asking price (couple starters, couple 1st rounders, etc.)

At this point, how many Derrick Brown's and similar bums from this team can we send Houston? You know, minus the massage stuff.

I was all in before the allegations.

I hope he rethinks this and doesn't go to bat for this coaching staff.

He has looked pretty good at times but nowhere worth passing on Wirfs, Wills or Jefferson (Will still back my wanting JJ to this day)

I mean to be fair, a lot of teams passed on those guys.

The real crime has been not drafting an offensive lineman in the first round since 2008. That’s probably the longest stretch for any team in the league.

They didn’t last long after Brown was picked. Only a few picks after and we’re widely mocked to us. Just saying, they’re not retroactive reaches that have outperformed their stock.

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
