Trade down or stay put?

I'd still field calls if #1 isn't an option.

I agree about the QB comment. I’m sure at least 1-2 QBs will “emerge” as franchise QBs. I wouldn’t be surprised if a healthy Strong is one of them.

With the dearth of QB talent a trade down might be wishful thinking but we absolutely will look to do so.  However if Neal or another top OT is there we might have to make that pick.  We gotta have a serious upgrade of talent on the OL.

Outside of some crazy development at QB we will probably be in a pickle there regardless

If Devin Lloyd rises then stay put and take him. Whoever gets him will have immediate playmaking and shutdown ability with championship leadership to control the middle of the defense.

If he looks to be available in the late 1st round, then trade down. Possible shot at getting the defensive leader in Devin Lloyd and the OL leader in Linderbaum by trading down.

It’s a almost guaranteed we trade down a 1-2 times in the first hopefully walk away with linderbaum at OC weakest part of our o-line is the middle. Brady seems to be serviceable at LT we could accumulate a couple 2nds and 3rd round picks by trading down and could use a 2nd on a qb

Only Kenny Pickett is a franchise QB in this draft. I think Corall is an NFL bust. Willis is not that good, and Strong, depending on his knee, is a solid option. The rest are projects. We can stay put and get one of the 3 LTs or the Iowa C. If we move back to the mid teens, we won't get any of them. If they are there, get Pickett or the remaining LT. We traded off too many picks and playing games to get more will get us lesser players. Bite the bullet and no more trades.

    • I agree with OP notion, QBs always get credited for game winning drives even if they do minimal. Just last night Caleb got credited for a GE drive when they basically ran the ball the whole drive and only had to go 36 yards.   And there are drives where Bryce could of had a game winning drive if not for a Legette drop vs Philly or a Chubba fumble vs Tampa
    • You are actually, genuinely comparing Bryce to Jimmy fuging Pickles? Jimmy accounted for 3 touchdowns in his 10 starts in 2010. In Bryce’s 10 games post benching last year, he accounted for 20 touchdowns. Jimmy threw three touchdowns in 2010. Three. Bryce has thrown 10 touchdowns through 6 games. He is currently on track to throw for 3300 yards, 28 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Wtf are we even talking about anymore. I mean seriously
    • Tepper? The guy that directs the coaches towards goals that he set for them… that guy. He is the one.    I don’t think he ever was going to be expelled from class, they had him come in for garbage time maybe the 2nd week he was benched.  I will say this. People said he wasn’t under pressure the last part of the year when he did better, but he was fighting for his career and that’s pressure. And he saved his career too. I don’t reject him for those kinds of things I reject him for the physical things. I have always brought it down to he has slim margin for error and has to be perfect. People with the tool set have a little fatter margin for error. Why make it harder on yourself? Got nothing to do with hating him.  I am no statistician but game that margin thing out a lot and see how that works.
