We trade the league leader in tackles for a 5th rounder! Our linebacker corps is paper thin, I like Fritterer but this is just bad. Denzel is a real thumper he’s not a great coverage LB but he is a damn good run defender and doesn’t bounce off RB’s like Carter.

I had no problem with trading Perryman. He did nothing while he was here and it’s obvious he wasn’t all in - not to mention the vaccine issue. 

That said, add MLB to our list of needs this off-season. The void left by Kuechly’s sudden retirement has hurt the run defense as much as anything.

So he turned it around in Vegas, nice for him. We signed him and he showed up to camp out of shape, unvaccinated and all around just a general distraction while not looking like he'd offer anything on the field. We got a pick for the cap space which was already sunk anyways, the trade was completely fine. We've made plenty of terrible moves lately, this isn't one of them. He was going to be cut based on his behavior in training camp anyways.

      I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.

      I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol

      Uh oh, Nicole Tepper hugged him. In all seriousness though every time I see more about him my hopes get higher. Smart, great attitude, prototype size and measurables, and athletic. He could be a great one.
