What is Tepper seeing that nobody else here sees?

Tepper may be seeing the 7 year $60 million contract he's paying Rhule. Maybe he's willing to give Rhule another year or mayber he hasn't decided what to do yet. Instead of bashing the owner of the team we support, support.

Tepper eating the remaining $50M is the financial equivalent of me attending a Panthers game with decent seats and having a couple of beers in the stadium. Not exactly something he's going to feel a hit from.

True, if you could also write that game off as a business expense.

Most people can't comprehend how little 50m is to someone like Tepper.

Chances are Dave makes more off his investments on any given day than what Matt's 7 year contract is costing him.

I’m going on the assumption that Dave has no plans of firing Matt this year. His comments about it could take five years makes me think this.

So as he has watched us go from 3-0 to 5-8, has watched Sam Darnold be everything he was in NY, has watched an o-line more resemble a pee-wee team than professionals and has watched a defense with some players seeming to quit…

What is he seeing that nobody else here sees? What is it that would make him think another year would be any different?

Any would be candidates for the Panthers head coaching job are following the situation in Carolina. Tepper committed to a rebuild. If Tepper fires Rhule before it is perceived he (Rhule) had a fair opportunity any quality candidates might be hesitant to show interest. These last games are important not just for the score, but the effort of the players.  That may be the difference in Rhule’s future.

The man is not clueless…he is worth $11 billion, you don’t get that way being clueless

i assure you he is not happy losing the way we are, and he wants to win more than anyone

Running a financial hedge fund doesn't necessarily translate to football. The man seems clueless on how to run a winning football organization.

Oh I know I can tell since he took over team. All he ever wanted was a soccer team, tell me different.

Are you seriously suggesting that Tepper spent over 2 billion dollars to by an NFL team as some sort of grand scheme that would eventually lead to his final dream of owning an MLS franchise? And now, having done so he doesn't care/ has no use for his NFL team?

Lololololololol

Some of you are dumb as fuging rocks.

Everyone should be fired for passing on Justin Fields or Mac Jones. Even with Darnold on the roster it was VERY dumb passing on a rookie QB. Instead they will pay Sam Darnold $18m next season to be on a different team.

It's real hard to be a fan of this team after all the dumb sh*t they did.

    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
    • It is goofy how some people hate Bryce so much that they're flat out lying to try and remain entitled to their pessimism. It's insanity. Most fans are realists and eagerly awaiting the season to see if we get pre- or post-benching Bryce to start the season and how much he is able to do with some young and developing weapons. Many of us understand that these young guys are going to have growing pains on the job as well as the new defense, but the fans with all of the excuses for why Bryce can't be successful are pounding the no excuses drum. Personally, I'd prefer the Keep Pounding drum.
