Joe Person is not the hero we wanted, but he is the hero that we need.

I'd like to believe Dave Tepper has learned a lot about the pro game during these last two years and wouldn't make the same mistake twice when it comes to hiring a head coach.

The next few weeks will tell the tale.

If Dave fires Matt at season's end, hope will be renewed.

If not, Panthers fans will likely have years of misery and failure ahead of them.

TL/DR:  Life is way too short to support a dysfunctional franchise.

Person has been good all year. But he has been really good since camp doing his job and since leaving the Observer.

Agreed. He’s been great since joining the Athletic. He’s not a breaking news guy which for some reason bothers people. But he’s a very good writer, and that’s what I prefer.

I agree. We've all seen Joe stumble haphazardly through practices and ask endless idiotic questions in pressers, but good for him on this one. Exposing the embarrassments of a billionaire that owns the team you make a living covering when no one else will is walking a dangerous line in terms of your career. Good for Joe.

He just might have more fan in him than we expected. Stir that pot Joe.

I won't. I will just watch a lot less Football and a whole lot more Hockey. You know the Hurricanes are pretty good and usually score as much as the Panthers too.

Huddle used to rip Person (with good reason) but he’s been really good since joining the Athletic.  His persona is so interesting.  A clueless man, I remember an interview with a player he wasn’t a part of, and he just walks through staring at his phone without a care in the world.  Joe Person being our hero is so fitting.  Thank you, Joe.

    • While I'd love to add him, it just doesn't make sense for where we are at in our re-build right now. The only teams who should be interested are those who have a very legitimate shot at winning the SB this season, as any team who makes the trade is going to be mortgaging their future to make the move. Teams who make these kinds of trades and then give them the massive contract, in the hopes that it will expedite their path to contention, ALWAYS ends up backfiring because they have to give up the 1st round picks that are then needed to help build out the rest of the roster after eating up such a significant chunk of the cap on the new contract. There is no way the Cowboys trade him for anything less than 2 future 1st rounders (and probably more), plus we'll have to make him the highest paid non QB in league history.  Not to mention that it would then have made the Scourton and/or Princely picks a bit of a waste, as those 2nd and 3rd round picks would have been better off used on a ILB or DB
    • Like his approach to pre season that's ro get them out there and play together for a few plays and right about the night before and morning before.  Maybe we can come out the gate on fire I can smell the smoke from here!!   Go Panthers
    • Only 26 years old, fills the biggest hole on our roster. Top 3 at his respective position, yeah fug it how often does a future HOF player become available in their prime?
