Cam didn't play good enough to win.

There is a lot to rip Darnold and Rhule for but some of you are reaching hard…

Clearly Sam wasn’t referring to just todays game and that statement is not meant to be a shot at Cam at all

Sam plays like poo. He is the last guy that should be bringing up any one else's shortcomings.

This sounds like a quote about the last few weeks of offensive struggles...

Pretty much.

This is like interpreting Pat Elflein saying the O-Line isn't playing well enough as throwing Cam Erving under the bus.

Even if he is referring to the last few weeks, Sam has no room to talk.

He shouldn't have mentioned Cam at all.

Eh, why not? They're teammates... I don't think he's trying to talk poo about Cam... I think the illustration was that the offense as a whole regardless of who is QB isnt able to get it done.

The OL is such a shitshow it isn't a surprise.

To bring up Cam was classless no matter how it can be spun. Shouldn't have said it.

It IS a competition. Everybody knows who is better.

Why is it classless?  I think in some ways it shows he sees the offense as not his alone but his and Cams... Which as the 2 QBs, that makes sense...

It really isn't a competition at this point.  The team is dogshit and the offense blows at all levels.

    • when we drafted Bryce Young that team might have been more talented than the team we currently have ?  that was the whole reasoning behind morgagting  our immediate future to trade up to #1 overall for BY. our front offices & owners felt like hey guess what the time is now to srike while the iron is hot go hire an All Star coaching staff we were only a Qb away from taking that next step ..just saying
    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
