I think TE was like #2 in the average Wonderlic score by position.  Maybe he’s truly playing big brain games this whole time… or he dragged them down to #2 from #1

I think MTV or somebody did a sketch a while back that portrayed Jessica Simpson as a super genius who just played dumb to fool people.

Also remember seeing an interview or something with Anna Nicole Smith that left me firmly convinced her dimwitted persona was all an act.

and did anyone take the time to really see if there was a correlation between the scores and sucess?

because if they didn't any opinion whether they were actually helpful or not is nothing more than a guess.

With as much money and resources that most NFL teams dedicate to the draft I'm sure some of the teams actually did, and the fact that the test stayed part of the combine for this long might indicate there was actually some sort of correlation that at least some of the teams appreciated, but that is just a guess.

There were three studies done that I'm aware of in '08, '09, and '11 and all three determined there was no correlation between wonderlic scores and NFL success.

unless you have access to every player any assumption about a correlation is nothing more than a guess

Perhaps, but being that the players' scores are all over the place, that may easily suggest that there is really no correlation and that ultimately the test means nothing.

Let’s be real here: the wonderlic is an ethnocentric, culturally biased form of pseudoscience that creates an unfair metric of classism and using it to judge potential NFL players is probably racist.

the prospects score has no correlation with success as an NFL player. It’s like one of the position coaches asking the player if he is gay during the interview process. Irrelevant and unethical.

    • Little light hearted topic.. For whatever reason Cam Newton doesn't appear in Madden ultimate team every year for whatever reason like most legends. I personally believe it's due to them robbing him of appearing on the cover of the video game series during his peak years winning NFL rookie of the year and the MVP super bowl run.  Needless to say I'm a huge Competitive Madden ultimate team player spending hours of days crunching numbers and churning roster management. When this was announced it was a lightening rod in the Madden community. Competitive players know Newton is a game changer.. Your talking fastest quarterback in the game and highest throwing power in the game when he drops. That a long with. Unheard of ability at quarterback like freight train the ability to run over linebacker and corners and I was stoked. I m ashamed to say how much money threw at the game to try to pull newton and failed  But it's a big deal seeing as every pro Madden player most certainly has to have him on their roster and the card art is pretty sweet.
    • A few different ways this can be taken depending on how you view things: Negative: This coaching staff is so inept that players are having to practically beg them to put them in situations that we as fans have been screaming for. How could David Tepper and Bryce Young do this to us? Positive: The coaches are listening to the players who are trusting the coaches! Neutral: Collaboration can lead to good things, so hopefully this starts the upward trend we've been waiting for.
    • I've been trying to tell y'all since preseason that Brycen Tremayne is the missing piece. 😛 XL, TMac, Coker, and Tremayne all dumpstering DBs when the team runs out of 10 personnel will be hilarious.
