"You have a very good chance of being an interim head coach for 8 games next season."

Its funny because I was shocked that Darrell Bevel jumped on the Lions sinking ship under Matt Patricia.  But he ended up being interim head coach so maybe he calculated that in.😂

No mention of Ram's OC Kevin O'Connell, but that one always sounded kind of questionable to me anyway. Hell, O'Connell has a head coach interview coming up (I forget where).

Also funny that Wilson mentions Darrell Bevell. Bevell isn't on our list at this point, but he has an old connection to Scott Fitterer from his time in Seattle.

And yes, he was the OC that called a pass at the goal line in the Super Bowl (though word was that Pete Carroll actually made that call).

we need someone who can develop Sam. If he fails then the OC and Rhule will be gone anyhow so I’m willing to see us waste a year on trying. Plenty of QBs took a few years to develop, let’s give Darnold a chance with a OC that knows what he’s doing and a decent offensive line.

He's done. Figured out. Plays scared. Can't fix that. Hypnosis maybe, but that's it. DNA. Mental makeup isn't given through rubber stamp. You either scared or you ain't.

Considering how hard they are hitting the OC search this week. Feels like the, hire an OC or be fired, thing may be true.

If I was any of the candidates I would stay as far away from this trash fires as I could.

No one worth their salt will come to this sinking ship. It’s just another reason that tepper needs to man up and pull the plug now. We have four (!) staff positions to fill, including both line coaches. This could not be a bigger mess and I just don’t understand letting Rhule continue to flounder when he’s in over his head in all aspects.

    • I could see Ruke or Xavier being possibilities this year.  Top 30 visits.  Seems this group looked at Clemson more so than past regimes.   Not that I really want that to happen.  I think the last time I legitimately wanted them to draft a Tiger was Nuk.  I'm also curious if they end up doubling down on the local products.   XL checks the box.   They brought Wilson, Walker, a bunch of Clemson guys in.  Who knows.  I would like Shipley in the 4th.
    • DJ Clark and Jonathan Mingo were our #2 and #3 receivers behind Theilan. The two of them combined for 78 catches ,5 TDS , and 943 yards . Those are the type of number you should expect for a lone #2 receiver or a stud TE over the course of a 17 game season. To match that production level in 2024 XL would need to average 4.5 receptions per game, a TD every 3 games, and 55.5 yards per game. If XL is used properly and if Bryce is competent enough to get him the ball he should have no trouble reaching (or surpassing) those totals which would be a huge improvement for our passing game.  Theilan is still a dependable #3 and the addition of Johnson gives us a true # 1. On paper we are without a doubt better at WR. Whether or not it translates to the field remains to be seen.
