He was talking about football operations as a whole to a question about how operations go. He was explaining that it’s a group process, not that he is making every decision. He wasn’t removing responsibility for the last two years from himself. He was explaining their process for making decisions. Providing support for a more communal effort vs. him calling from on high. Jesus, go listen to it.

I can see how this taken out of context can lead to confusion. He was taking ownership of the state of the franchise when stating this statement.

You can chalk it up to context if it makes you feel better. Accountability has been lacking and for a regime not at all shy to jettison players they don't feel are holding up their end of the bargain (even at a loss) it's just more fuel for the critics.

I don’t recall hearing any other coach saying this before. Most of the time they don’t even blame anyone, just talk about how they need to improve and talk about the positives of the loosing season, like the development of young talent.
