Tom's mental ability to quickly analyze defenses and react accordingly has always been his greatest strength.

This is the defining trait of a franchise QB. Brady has off the charts intangibles and a competitive fire. No one will say that he is the best athlete on the field but he knows how to win. Peyton Manning is a poor athlete but was cerebral and studied his craft the hardest. Our next QB has to have these traits, not just the strongest arm or the fastest 40 time.

TB12 deleted their congrats stuff…I have a feeling he’s done but something got out that wasn’t supposed to yet.

FWIW, an article I read earlier, which was from cbs sports, said those closest to him were expecting him to make an announcement this coming week.  The thinking being he respects the game too much to overshadow the games tomorrow or make the announcement during Super Bowl week.  Waiting until the dust has settled from the Super Bowl would put the Bucs in a lurch, assuming his decision is to hang them up.

Those same people expect he will retire, but nobody has said he has finalized that decision.

Both Peyton and Brady had huge arms in their primes. They were just statues. They definitely had to rely on their brains when they got up in age but these weren’t some chad Penningtons. They could chuck the fug out of the ball.

    • Another thread where the Huddle melts down over a Bryce comment.  "Conversations" and "Bryce Young has been signed to a new long-term contract" are still far away from being the gospel.  For a fanbase that has watched two top-3 drafted QBs come here, and us move on, only to see them elevate their play elsewhere, I find it comical. Bryce is flawed but this org is damned if you do and damned if you don't with BY9.  Why would our GM and HC say anything other than supportive about their QB1. Yes, he's extended, but I truly do not think if he goes out and has a repeat of the previous seasons, that he is here beyond 2027. They're giving him every opportunity and surrounding him with a ridiculous amount of assets on both sides of the ball. If he continues to pitch 110 yd/ game and cough up the ball while everyone else is busting their ass, no way Dan keeps him beyond the extension.
    • Ooof, I was not a Proctor fan. I agree w/ a lot of smarter folks than me that he's more of a guard and think his weight fluctuation is going to be something to navigate. I liked Lomu a lot, but figured there would be more talented guys there at 19. I also wasn't big on bringing in a TE via the draft. If it's not a vet (Njoku) or a trade for Mayer or Kmet, I'd just as soon see what the youngsters have. No need cluttering the room with more of the same.
    • Sam Darnold & Bryce Young are two very different Qbs ..just saying the last 25 years approximately 2/3 of ALL  first round Qb's  in the NFL were or are bust.so for everyone who makes it like a Sam Darnold you have two that don't make it or are a bust
