If you have a heart you root for the Bengals, if you have a brain you bet on the Rams....

I want the Bengals to win, it epitomizes the theory that you can be a franchise QB away from winning it all. They are fun, they remind me of the 2003 Panthers in the sense they came out of no where. Joe Burrow did America a favor and kept Jackson Mahomes and Brittany Lynn OUT of the Super Bowl.

but at -4, this is one of the easiest SB bets of all time. The Rams are at home (kinda I guess) but that D-line is going to make it miserable for Cincy. We all know what a wreak havoc D-line can do to a SB, it happened in 2015, happened last year, happened for the Giants, etc. Yes Burrow has been sacked a lot, but he and Cincy have not faced a pass rush like this all year. To make matters worse, the Rams offense isn't a dud, they can SCORE and score often. Cincy's defense isn't terrible but it won't impose their will on a game, they are more of an opportunistic defense lead by a star in Jessie Bates and breakout FA in Hendrickson.

I love the Bengals story but a big stack of greenbacks says LAR 34 Cincy 17

The Rams don't have a home. That stadium gets overrun by opposing fans nearly every week and that's with them fielding a SB caliber team. Imagine what it's going to look like in down years. There's a reason why the NFL left LA, they just forgot.

The Super Bowl really isn’t a home field advantage for any team as every game for the past 20 years is basically the Corporate America Bowl

This Matchup reminds me of the Finals last year. Like the Bucks, a team like the Rams have been building towards a title for years and the Bengals have came out of nowhere with a young core like the Suns. I do see flashes of the 03 Panthers in Cincy as well. Oddly enough, this the first super bowl in years where I won't be bummed at either team taking it all. Solid Analysis OP.

Judging by the coverage so far on NFL Network (who has a permanent studio on the Rams campus), I am going to assume that even if the Bengals show up strong, they will not get the calls from the refs to win the game.  The biggest "tell" the refs give off on how they are going to call the game is a timely defensive holding or illegal contact on 3rd down to give the Rams a 1st down.  As soon as you see that, it should be more than a yellow flag.  It should be a red flag for anyone watching the game.

Personally I am okay with either team winning the game.  The storylines in this one are so plentiful that the media has barely needed to touch the Sean McVay vs old assistant coach Zac Taylor angle.  In normal years that would have been front and center.  With this Super Bowl, it has been a side note.

Stafford put up with poo for years I won’t be mad if they win, but I do like underdogs and the bengals have also been poo for years

slight edge to wanting to see the bengals win but honestly it doesn’t matter…it’s not all that interesting but it is nice not to have see more same ol mahomes or Brady

meanwhile Rhule is strategizing trading up for Pickett

    • No, he has a long way to go to be that--I think he is probably referring to his ceiling--I think Legette has more room to grow from where he is that those more polished WRs.  When you look at his potential, it presents an argument that is not so one sided.  Of those three, only Odunze had a higher RAS score 9.92.  XL had a 9.90.  Malik Nabors had a 9.67.  Harrison Jr.  did not have one.  I am not sure that Legette has not overcome more obstacles to be where he is, and if you consider his adversity, his story might be more incredible, even though he is only a second tier rookie right nowm with Mitchell, Thomas, Pearsall, and maybe McConkey.  I am going from memory-but you have to think of things as a kid-when he was 16, his mother died of breast cancer.  When he entered S Carolina, his father died.  They had some issues and QB problems and the OL was terrible in Columbia---the others you mentioned?  None of that family drama, and they played at Washington, Ohio State, and LSU.  Huge difference.  I am proud of him as a man--when all his chips were on the table--when he had no more chances, he broke through and became a first round draft pick.  A school with a losing record, mediocre QB, and bad OL.  Mentally, he was struggling through the losses of both parents.  Amazing story.  Is he as good as those three who played at top universities?  Not yet.
