Oh my god. 😨

Kirk Cousins is just Teddy Bridgewater maximizing his abilities. Good enough to compete for playoff berths, not good enough to get you anywhere on the playoffs. Hard pass.

Rhule's quest for mediocrity continues...

TL/DR:  Lock up your draft picks and cap space, Rhule's going shopping.

This would be the 4th strike out in QB's in 2 years with this coaching staff and front office.  WTF are they thinking?

Just did a quick check and his base salary for 2022 is 35 million.  lol

We would damn near 1/2 of our money going to QBs.  If you count what we still owe TB5 and Darnold's 5th year option plus Cousins quick math brings us to 50 mil in QBs alone.

FYI: Still nothing from any established sources but for what it's worth, a listener to the show tweeted that Zulgad said the Vikings told the Panthers that Cousins isn't available "at this time".

There have been reports that Kevin O'Connell plans to stick with Cousins.

Of course, you know how "plans" go.

Cousins isn't bad, but he hasn't struck me as great either. The Vikings paid for "great" but the best they ever got out of him was "pretty good".

Is he better than what we have? Probably, but I'd really like to know what we're thinking of trading if we go that route.

Cousins would be Carolina’s version of Jimmy G. If you surround him with enough talent then he can get you deep in the playoffs. The problem is……do we have THAT much talent? I would think with that contract you could probably land him with a 3rd or 4th round pick or a 2nd next year.

O’Connell led off by saying “well he’s under contract” when asked and sounded like if they could trade him they would.

I was told about Cousins a month ago. So I’m not surprised by this

    • I mean....no lies detected. See above. We have traded a fortune to draft a guy #1 overall that people have lowered standards for to the point that not playing like Jimmy Clausen and looking like a poor man's Kyle Allen occasionally is worthy of a contract extension making him one of the highest paid QB's in the league. That is cope on steroids.
    • summary: "let's talk about your draft, what did you think about Freeling" Dan:   guys with a huge upside, can come in and compete to start.  High ceiling "he does what for your offense?" Dan:   it's hard to find left tackles, guys that big and athletic.  We have Icky coming off an injury, we signed Walker, I believe your offensive line can never be too strong.  If we're going to win the game, it's gotta be up front on both sides of the ball, so we make a point of emphasis on making both sides of the front as strong as possible. "how many mocks did you see Monro falling to you." Not many times, left tackles are gonna go a lot earlier than when we took him.  We want to add the best player, in free agency or the draft"  that's our philosophy, to get the best players possible. "Hunter and Brazzell." Dan:  we followed the board.  Lee we felt very highly of him , super strong.  Brazzel so flexible and loose, can open the verticle.  Will Lee we held in high regard. "you take a look at your receiver room, Coker, my goodness, your offensive rookie of the year in Tet.  Lost Rico, but there is Jonathan Brooks. " Brooks coming off two knee injuries, he worked his way back, looking great, fully healthy, will help in pass and run game.  Icky, not sure when he's coming back but we're excited about both "plan on extending Bryce" we'll keep talking, will keep internally.  We believe in him, has such a great grasp of Canales and offense, has improved every year. "he's clearly come back from the benching, the arrow is trending up, where does he feel" Bryce knows where we stand with him, when and if a deal gets done, he knows we feel great with him, we'll get something done at the right time. "if this a prove it situation?" everyone in the building has to prove it, has to earn it. Tmac was everything we wanted, his work ethic, he's so big and talented, but he puts the work in, and is a great teammate. "your level of expectation, the building's level of expectation for 2026 "our goal is to win the division every year, we know we have to earn it.  we have to put the work in every day, proving it on the practice field, and our  guys know that." "schedule" we haven't opened at home in 2 or 3 years.  We love prime time games, hope we get some "
    • this one is gold:     Bryce has a cult inside the Panthers fanbase that has truly developed some NPC hivemind. I'll never understand how he's captured the true essence of the casual fan like that.
