Jeremiah: Panthers "dead set" on drafting an offensive lineman

Two things that bother me...

First, they smokescreened interest in a quarterback last year. They could be doing something similar this year.

And second, that phrase "even if it's a reach" isn't something I like to hear.

Sounds like classic b.s. of the lying season.  "Even if it's a reach" and "dead set on" don't jibe with the NFL draft

Im good with Linderbaum or a LT like Icky, Cross or even Penning at 6 if we can't trade back. Years of us ignoring the line shouldn't accompany complaining when we finally use a high pick to address the problem.

All of this sounded good until the "even if it's a reach."

My instant thought was, "fug. We are gonna pass up on a surefire LT to get a versatile swing OL that was projected as a 2nd round pick."

This is not the part that mentions the Panthers, but it's about quarterbacks in general so it's interesting.

Regarding the Steelers interest in Willis, there's also this:

Previous scuttlebutt had the Steelers being interested in Sam Howell, but now it sounds like Malik Willis might be their guy.

Rhule already said that he didn't want Slater at 8 because there was speculation if he might be best at guard. He didn't want a guard at that high of a pick. This doesn't match with Daniel's report, which means to me that the Panthers are pulling a little trickery with the media.
