Good hopefully the Taints get him. Why mortgage the future and give up so much of a ransom for a guy who hasn't even played in a year and wasn't THE ABSOLUTE TOP QB in the league when he played last. He was good but he isn't worth what the Texans are asking. New Orleans probably has much better happy ending massage parlors anyhow so they win regardless. Roll with Cam another season and get some lineman to protect him while setting the stage to DRAFT a QB and develop him but of course our inept coaching staff can't develop players anyhow so let's let Rhule work his way out of this job and give the new coach first round picks to work with.

LOL…leave out the players going out and his enormous cap hit and him costing many more premium picks than a move up would cost.  Not to mention the 22 pending civil suits.  Lets ignore all that

Do you think there are any two guys on the defense right now that significantly change the fortunes of the franchise to lose them? I think there are lots of good young players. There are no Von Millers or Aaron Donalds.

Depends on where the Panthers are picking, but let's say they are picking 10th without Watson in 2022 and need to move up, to, say, 2nd overall. We have a blueprint for that trade from last year with the 49ers, who traded from 12th to 3rd. They gave up 12, two future firsts, and a current third. That's almost exactly the pick compensation being discussed for Watson.

Or perhaps they know Houston would never trade him within the division?

use your brain

I am dude. It won't happen BUT the whole idea of "I don't want to face player-x in our division" in any trade is S-T-U-P-I-D, especially if said team gets the best offer.

Technically we don’t but standing pat for now at QB doesn’t sound like Tepper at this point

If we were smart, we would admit what we did in the past was stupid, save our draft capital, build the line through the draft, run it back with Darnold grab a rookie QB that you like in the draft in the top 5 (or higher).

But no man, we are going to be rolling with watson trying to figure out how to get him line help while our defense is bottom 3rd in the NFL.   All the while being perpetually up against the cap

You're taking this way too personally.

Yeah it's like if you can't even handle difference of opinion on this matter how exactly are you going to make it through what is likely another season of disappointment? Even with Watson we aren't just going on a magical Super Bowl run right away. Matt Rhule is not going to just go from outcoached by every head coach that was fired to Jimmy Johnson.

If they actually accept the type of ransom being thrown out there while no other team does?  Players end up facing their old teams all the time.  I think the whole "we don't want to face him" thing is WAY overblown by any traded player.  It projects weakness and distrust within you own four walls that you can't overcome playing against one of your former players.

Then how about the simple fact that it would make Indy a likely SB contender. And those 1st-2nd rounders are at the bottom of the rounds. Not possible top 10 picks. Huge difference in value right off the top. And teams don’t trade good QBs to division opponents. That is a very valid reason as well.

If he goes to the Saints, fug him.

I'm saying that now, especially if he comes here.  I guess I will take a pause from the Panthers until he is traded later on, Rhule gets fired or Tepper sales the team.  I didn't think we'd ever become the freaking Jets, Browns and Bengals of old, but this team is turning into the armpit of the NFL.
