Any number of people, but not Gantt —I only bother him for radio hits and Bojangles takes.

But once again, thanks for taking an unusual interest in the granular details of my work. I hope you’re getting everything you need from me on this, in terms of fulfillment. Talk to you again in a few days, I guess.

Don't quit your day job 👌

This is the equivalent of people being like “I’m gonna vote for Biden! But I’m not gonna like it!” Nobody cares dude you can just leave without saying anything.

I really could not give less a poo about what you or anyone else thinks. It's a Panthers forum, about the Panthers, for Panthers fans, so yeah I'm gonna throw my two cents out as a longtime and loyal fan. You can deal, or if you *really dont care that much* just ignore the post 🙂

I've been saying, replace one of those marquee names with an extra high pick.  I'd throw them an additional 2nd for Burns and Chinn each, if that's what it takes.  We have two proven commodities in them, so we need to keep them if at all possible.

I'd even be more comfortable with giving up Jaycee.  I think he's a phenomenal player, but the foot injury scares me a bit and he still is fairly unproven as he only played in 3 games as a rookie.

But anyway,

I'm thinking 3 1sts, 3 2nds, and a 3rd, plus Brown. CMC, Darnold.  It also needs to be considered, this is a #6 overall pick in the 1st this year.  That's crazy value alone.

We no have 2022 second rounder but damn I hope it isn’t quite that much

You’re literally just posting this to try to guilt trip people about watching entertainment. I leave morality to higher stakes then football. You’re posting this for a reason.

I want the team to win, but not enough to cheer for a serial sexual assaulter (or at the very least, someone I can't in good confidence say ISN'T a serial SA). I've been a lurker/member of this board for 15 years, and have watched *every* minute of every game since I was a fan, every draft pick, every practice recap, etc. I'm about as hardcore of a Panthers fan as they come, and I'll be far from the only one to walk from the team if we trade for Watson.

So the lengthy list of other abuses by NFL players never made you second guess your following of this sports league?

He probably will get suspended for 6 or so games next year but this isn’t about just next year.

I agree.  So we pay $35m for a QB who is out for over 1/3 of our games.  2022 done, imo. We lose a star RB, DE, and maybe a WR like Moore.  We lose our first in 2022, 2023, and 2024.  And we can only be good when this investment is 28--which means we have a top QB for about 5-7 years.

So if 2022 is a lost cause because we only get Watson for about 60% of the games if he is healthy, why not trade the players you intend to include in the deal for first rounders, basically guaranteeing the chance to draft a top rookie QB in 2023, when the shopping is good?

Not suggesting this, but I am saying there are many ways to become relevant.  If we dont get Watson, I am OK with it.  If we do, great.

A fan of the team doesn't make me a fan of the league. Keep working on those mental gymnastics.

I know.  So it will have to be in one of the following years.  Tack it on.

There is a limit on how far out you can trade picks I believe, for what it's worth. I don't think we can trade picks from the 2025 draft or later right now. So we have 3 firsts and 2 seconds potentially on the table. That alone won't get it done most likely, especially if they're taking Darnold's contract off our hands.

So if it goes down like that, does Matt Rhule get a pass because the team was gutted, and we didn't have Deshaun for almost half the season?
