Doesn't make much sense to me.  He flashed a few times last season and 3M isn't much.

He started out pretty good but his play fell off a cliff (along with the rest of the team) as the season went on. Just checked his stats, I figured he had like 5 sacks last year but he only had 1.5 and no individual sacks, just 3 shared sacks... Completely fine moving on from him.

I'd also expect the Panthers to consider cutting CB A.J. Bouye, given they could save an additional $3.5 million, while only incurring $1.2 million in dead money.
