None of these moves matter without our franchise QB

Prove me wrong

I keep seeing these redundant threads about "Rhule has no excuses". Listen, Rhule's issue was never team building. He showed through the past two years he can build an elite defense (#2 in yards allowed despite his defense having to be on the field a tremendous amount), through the draft and free agency. This has never been his issue looking good on paper.

His issue is that the CAROLINA PANTHERS cannot seem to get the QB position down. In this league you need an elite QB that can win you games despite the inconsistencies that constantly happen in football. Our offensive line looks great, defense looks okay, but without a game-defining QB, we will not win games.

Our best chance is to pray for a miracle that Cam can turn his poo around the past two years or that Kenny Pickett is more developed then the haters are saying (which I think he is).

All I'm saying is that the most important position for a team is NOT head coach, it's Quarterback. That's the sole reasons that Green Bay, Indianapolis, New England, Pittsburgh etc all had their DECADES of relevance.

Point being: These moves don't mean poo if we don't have someone to run the show. Our defense was great last year. Darnold didn't hit a passing touchdown his last 8 or 9 games.

You are right about the QB. As far as building the remaining team we are in great shape overall and I am very optimistic about this wonderful FA class so far. Here is my plan to get solid results this season and have hope for the future. I posted this in another thread but here is my plan if I were GM. Pickett fans can switch out him for Malik but the point is that is at least a PLAN that could work in my opinion:

Sign a LT in free agency, sign Fitzmagic as a one year rental, draft Willis at #6 and let him have a true redshirt year to adjust to the NFL. He can learn from fitz and Darnold will be backup, then we are set going into 2023 season with a young talented team on both sides of the ball and (hopefully) our franchise QB ready to start and take over the league.

Our offense next season:

QB: Fitzpatrick, Darnold, Willis

O line: FA LT (Armstead?), LG: Christensen, Center: Bozeman, RG: Corbett, RT: Moton

Playmakers: CMC, DJ Moore, Anderson, Tremble, Marshall JR, Thomas, Hubbard, D’Onta Foreman

Major upgrade on paper and hope for the future

So would you have preferred do nothing and complain about that instead? I don’t wanna “prove you wrong” but are you one that is wanted Watson at all costs? Even at the expense of any other shallow talent we have on the team? Let what happens , happen. You can’t fix everything all of the time. We’re in prime position to take a qb , regardless of opinion of these qbs. If that doesn’t work, let the cards fall as they may and revisit next offseason. Start some damn threads of positivity. It’s always negative whine negative this. Go panthers.

Oh kid you're an idiot. This is the first year we are actually playing FA right.

I was about to say this but….

Do any of these moves make the Panthers a better team which, would allow us to make this a more desirable location for a franchise QB? Then they do matter.

My guy summed it up respectfully as we say. Like damn can we become better without complaining, 22 positions to address we’re solidifying so many positions that our team becomes a very desirable destination for anyone looking for that Rams type of team. Insert top qb and compete for it all.

You are mistaking.

Last year we had some really great free agent pick-ups. Reddick, Jones, Fox etc.

Year one Robby Anderson 1200 yards

How about some substance in your posts - instead of insults - makes you look intellectually lacking.

The POINT is that the threads "Rhule has no excuses" are ridiculous. This roster is not made for the playoffs at all.

Gonna say stupid things going to get blunt responses. I'm OG and have to make these kids mentally tough.

I agree.  Minus the Cam part.  That ship sailed years ago.  Rhule has definitely made some mistakes but the roster has constantly been filling holes since he came.  I would say at the current moment the roster on paper has the least holes its had in years and years.  The main mistake I would say Rhule has made is prioritizing all holes on the roster equally regardless of position.
