Yeah I’m not that excited about the signings as everyone else.  But hey go Panthers!

O-line is improved, otherwise kinda indifferent. Foreman also might be a sleeper pickup, Titans didn't really drop off when he was covering for Henry, though AJ Brown was kinda going off in a couple of those games at WR

Most of these guys are on one year deals and you need to fill out a roster, I'm not expecting them to be stars

Offensive line is a weak link prospect, adding solid guys across the board raises the level of play. Seems fine to me, the team needs to find their star players, the big money guys, in the draft.

Wilson was a much better run defender with KC than Jax which probably is a a testament to that team overall.

I live in KC and watched him a fair bit. He played a Sam type of position and wasn't great. It helped that Anthony Hitchens made him look better by being so bad.

The 2 OL:  Huge upgrades.  Going from suckass to above average is great.  Wish Bozeman were on a 3-year deal, but that will come.

The S:  I am concerned that he is going to play free safety when his is much better vs the run (or I would assume, in the box).  His 58 grade in coverage is concerning.

The P:  Getting worse since 2013, but is average of late.

The RB:  Entering his prime and he will be liked.

The DL: Situational pass rushing DT from the 3 or 5 tech.  If we ask him to do more, we get burned.

The LB:  Not impressed.   Maybe in our scheme he can be good, and I am convinced that I could have suited up and played in front of Carter.

The WR:  Camp fodder.

OVERALL:  We helped 40% of the offensive line (going from bad to above average).  We helped the run game with Foreman--he is going to beast.  We are better at S because Woods is better than Burris.  Beyond that, we replaced the quality of players we lost.  I still think this free agency was successful if we can add a third OL--free agency or draft.

I'm not meaning to dog the signings themselves here since this looks like an actual NFL-caliber FA strategy vs what we saw last year, but I wonder how/if they plan on addressing improved run defense in the front 7. Neither Ioannidis nor Wilson were/are particularly strong in that regard.

Exactly my concern.

    • Ehlers needs to sit. Definitely can't lose him to a meaningless game.
    • Bet didn't hit because the referee missed 3 clear corner kicks. I had a 5k parlay that would have been alive tomorrow if he didn't miss those calls as well. Super annoying
    • I don't think it's at all a given that we have players who are good at driving the basket. I guess that depends on your definition. Bridges is 43rd in attempts in the paint Miller is 64th and LaMelo is 66th. We all love to see the lob threat but it's largely miniscule at this point in time. There's gotta be a solution here if LaMelo is to be the centerpiece because this is simply not sustainable if we want to continue to ascend. If he can't drive to the basket then that means we need to add another player to the core who consistently can. That would require moving someone like Miles Bridges. And that's certainly not going to be popular with LaMelo but something has to give here for what we are investing and we need to maximize guys like Miller and Knueppel on rookie deals while we still can. The three chucking is fine when it's working where the issue comes into play is there are no adjustments when it isn't and we just go into a shell and begin to look like the Hornets of yesteryear. That's why the offensive evolution of all involved is critical to us taking the next step. Getting to the play in is nice but we should have our sights set much higher. Right now though they need to take care of business against the Heat. All I ask is that they at least beat those fools. I cannot stand the Heat.
