If McAdoo is a high potential guy, he has to have Willis ranked highest.  Rhule needs to win now so he must have Pickett ranked highest.  It will be interesting to see if he listens to McAdoo or not...

I'd rather they both defer to James Campen

Draft a QB or suck for one next year.

No need to suck for one next year.

Build the rest of the team and go all in on a pass heavy offense with an available mid to late round QB or unknown potential already in the NFL. You either find a Brady, Warner, Hasselbeck, or Delhomme letting them know this is their one shot. Tell them to prove to us we don't need to draft a QB next year because we found our leader. They have enough of an OL and defense to succeed after this offseason. Drafting a clutch WR with great hands and big play ability would be the one piece they need to add to give the QB 5 receiving targets that will threaten/spread out a defense.

At worst, you draft the WR this year in Garrett, Burks, Olave, and Dotson. The team will have the WRs to pair with a QB in next years draft if we can't find that diamond in the rough QB, and hopefully a new coach to go with that 1st round QB.

At best, you have a team competing for a championship and franchise leader at QB.

My picks for QB in the draft this year are Desmond Ridder if he falls in the draft, Aqeel Glass, or Jack Coan. Rypien and Buechele are my hidden gem picks if the Broncos or Chiefs would give them up for a 5th or 6th round pick. This is the year to give QBs like them an opportunity to take over the team.

What's the other option? Getting a known quantity at QB like Cam, Darnold, Walker, or Mayfield and hoping for a mediocre season and a one and done in the playoffs? At best, they get carried by the defense with a shot to win a SB only to look for their upgrade/replacement in 2023.

It's possible Corral is at the top of his board, he is similar to Josh Allen and I think is more gifted than Willis

I've got nothing against Corral.  I'd be happy if he get him by trading down.  His frame/paying style bothers me a little.  He played well against tough competition, but he was banged up a lot and takes a lot of hits.  I still think Willis has the highest ceiling and strongest arm in this class.  Corral probably has a higher floor though as he carved up some SEC defenses.

I disagree with the very popular idea that somehow Pickett has already reached his potential and couldn't also have a higher potential. We have a QB coach as an OC and a very well respected QB coach. He had a breakout season last year running a pro style offense. It looked like something clicked and he killed it. Why can't he be taught more and be able to improve his game to a higher level? The guy is smart and known for being a hard worker.

Much like other young QBs having success early in the NFL, I think Pickett has that same, high potential.

    • I feel the same way. Bryce hasn't proven himself to be so good that he would clearly lap anyone that we'd bring in the compete for the starting job. I think the team is actually afraid to do that. If Bryce goes down does anyone think Kenny Pickett is solid option to replace him?. We can control him for 2026 and 2027. The problem is 2028. Unless he takes a massive leap forward ability wise, I don't see how Carolina can justify paying B.Y. $50 million a year. So far, Bryce has not shown that he can CONSISTENTLY carry a team. He needs to be carried by a strong offensive line, running game, pass catchers and a respectable defense. If he's lacking any of those things I don't think we can make the playoffs in 2026/2027 unless the NFC South is as bad (or worse) than 2025. Unfortunately, athletes and agents have EGOs! When he has a chance for a 2nd contract his management team will probably insist on a "market deal" and feel insulted if they don't get one. That leaves a couple of options if his play hasn't significantly improved. 1) Let him walk and test the market. 2) Franchise him for the 2028 season if you're still not sure about what to do. 3) Extend him to a team friendly deal that pays him below the "current market" which would allow the team to continue to build a solid team to support him. 4) Over pay him and pretty much ruin any chance of becoming a consistent contender. The last option is the LEAST DESIRABLE ONE. The 2026 season is a pivotal season for Bryce and the Carolina Panthers. The success of the next 5-7 years could ultimately be decided on how well plays the next 2 seasons.
    • Thank god BigKat can't buy it because I'd be gone immediately
    • Drake Maye ended up putting almost 300 on them lol. Bryce was stunned from the beginning to end. I know that's an easy comp for the Bryce truthers but no one else put up those puny QB stats against them all season long.
