Imagine all these takes in retrospect if we take a LT that busts and leave a guy on the board who becomes a franchise QB.

There is always the possibility of a bust. Either way. It's a simple risk /reward calculation. Drafting a QB in the top ten, that actually has a second round grade is very different from drafting one of three LTs projected to be around top ten talent.

Let Darnold and Rhule flame out. We should not pour further resources into them.

Imagine us taking a backup level QB and therefore passing on a high level LT. tenor.gif

I didn't like him because of how OU used him. But I sure wish we had the chance to draft him.

That's basically what I mean though. Love 'em or hate 'em as prospects we'll all be a lot better off if we land a legit QB.

Comparing Herberts talent to this years QB class is nothing but a reach though. If there was a Hebert type QB of course that changes things. I just don't like reaching, while passing on a "shure shot".

This is a garbage take. The psl owners built this franchise. Put a winning team on the field and you won’t have to beg for support. Your condescending tone towards the people who helped fund a team being here is ignorant.

Helped fund a team being in Charlotte, and now profit from it on a yearly basis.

There is no home field advantage at Bank of America Stadium because this fairweather, profiteering culture is encouraged.

Not many of us PSL owners are “profiting” off of our tickets.

when the cowboys or Steelers  come to town:  sure, there is profit to be made

But have you ever tried to sell a pair of tickets that you paid over 100 dollars for in your psl package to a late season (5-9) panthers team vs a (4-10) falcons team.  I remember seeing tickets being put in the big planter boxes outside the stadium during the 2010 debacle.

There is no home field advantage in Charlotte due to the fact that for 25+ Years, two owners have sold a bag of garbage to the local fan base and tried to pass it as a functioning nfl franchise (sans four or five years).

In order to have a fair weather culture, the team actually needs to appear competent and win some consistently.

I'm telling you guys, if we suck, we need to draft Grayson McCall in the 2023 Draft. There is no QB in the draft worth the pick that we hold and there are offensive linemen or even defensive players well worth the pick. Hell, I'd even be fine taking a game breaking receiver.

Roll with Darnold, if he sucks or the offensive line isn't improved, you get a high draft pick again and you take your QB next year.

Do not reach for someone who is nearly as old as Darnold but with a power ceiling and a much lower floor.

Sideshow Darnold.

Got his check and got fat?

Honestly, Darnold's biggest problem was that he became the guy they said he was. He held onto that potential through our first three games, then almost did in the fourth and then completely lost it from there (except for almost single-handedly bringing us back and winning the Minnesota game).

He was the guy who got scared, who got rattled, who saw more ghosts than the Sixth Sense kid. Maybe a Belichick could have fixed him, but our guys couldn't. Now, considering what we've paid for him and the alternatives this year, trot him on out again and get us a high draft position next season.

Sam's biggest problem is two parts. He is terrible at playing quarterback and he is not a leader. Yet he continues to get more opportunities that many here would deny other quarterbacks with different backgrounds.

Yeah, I mean is there anyone who can list something considered a strength that Darnold does? I can't think of any.

He will go down in Panthers history as one of the biggest franchise blunders, if he plays here in 2022 or not.

Thank you for saying this

not many on here realize, too, that it’s nit year by year.   It’s a four, six, 8 year commitment and it doesn’t matter if they suck or not

the price each year is guaranteed to not go above x percent

it’s up to the owner to find another PSL buyer if you want out

2020 Rhule says he's excited to coach Cam and get him healthy LIE

2021 Rhule says Teddy needs to have a tremendous offseason LIE

2022 Rhule says Sam should improve this season LIE

This is the Rhule trend when it comes to QB's he's not hitching his wagon to Sam when he's on one of the hottest seats coming into this season!

Yeah, I don't see any chance we are starting Darnold in game 1. They will make a trade or draft a player.

    • I don't think so. I think once you're measuring electronically, the spot is where the sensor says it is. So if it says half yard short of the line to gain, that's the spot. Now how that works with scrums and the ball moving on two minute drills and poo is anybody's guess.
