That’s true. Most people have actually heard of Sam.

If you cry hard enough about Sam Howell and talk enough poo about the players that we did draft then maybe the universe will realign to give you what you want. So just keep throwing shade at all of our new players. That'll surely help your cause in the long run.

His issue is processing.  However, a 5 star recruit who probably was always able to get by on his athleticism (like Cam) so his processing is not as developed as someone who needs it to compete.

The details of the trade:

The Washington Commanders traded the 120th pick and 189th pick to the Carolina Panthers for the 144th pick and 149th pick.

This was a good move, Scott Fitterer.

We lost 5 draft points for that trade.  We gave 70.8 and they gave 65.8.  So total draft value,  its like we picked him at  117.

His valuation was mostly in the pick 50-100 range, but NFL.com hated him and put him at 257, bringing his average rank to 95.

As Mark Twain once said "There are three types of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics." It looks like the kid can hit like a freight train, so I'll go with what I can see.

Was supposed to be Parsons 2.0, but never clicked this year. That said, he is the top athlete at LB. If the instincts ever come around and he plays fundamentals instead of going for the splash play, he's gonna be a steal in years 2 and 3.

Kinda shocked he lasted this long but w/e

Quote
  • A dominating athlete who tests off the charts - at 240lbs he's reportedly run a hand-timed 4.38 (although we consider our 4.40 a more reliable report)
  • Made Bruce Feldman's Freaks list at #32 -- "Smith’s explosiveness is in line with many of the recent Penn State standouts. He broad jumps 10-5 and verticals 36 inches. His 4.25 shuttle time also is very strong, as is his 335-pound clean

Dude looks to be nasty and carry a ton of lumber. Nice blitzing too, and doesn't look like an outright liability in coverage. I really like this pick

Fans should truly be pumped.

LT- smart, tough, hard worker

QB- maybe the long term answer?

 LB- Do-all freakshow

Just cost a future 3rd and exchange 5ths for a 4th and 6th.

Homer glasses off, respect the hell of the effort this year. Panther waited and my god did it pay off. Hard to say it could gone better if you take the big picture in..

    • Everybody made too much of that. The CBA and the 17 game schedule is what kills the cohesion we see in teams across the league in the opening games.  You decide, look at your depth and make informed decisions there or you get a an extra quarter or whatever two quarters with your ones.  Teams that are set don’t have those openings as much down the roster to evaluate but that ain’t everybody. It is a quandary. I think they need that 4th preseason game back. But as I said, I don’t lay that as the excuse for Bryce to come out looking like he does to start seasons. He has an entire camp.
    • Hey I said the 1pm west coast team, I said the up down up down and we were due for the up week.  You can’t know what is going to happen. There was a guy that detailed why the league would engineer a Panthers win to bring LA Rams back to the pack in conference standings.  Who really knows, and how much real belief do you have when citing these things? I generally have as much as my superstition allows. It rarely rises to an emotional experience. Usually it is more analytical. In terms of interest. When crazy poo happens and we win a game like today I for sure enjoy it.  I mean you have to think about it, how many times do you connect 2 4th and short situations for TDs? Who does that? That is like the most embarrassing thing for the Rams’ defense lol. That never happens and should never happen.  Expecting it to happen might not be a good plan. But it was pretty great
