Looking for another option at QB to mentor Corral? How about one more Baylor alum?

Ladies and gentlemen, if Cam isn't interested, I present to you: RGIII

https://awfulannouncing.com/espn/robert-griffin-iii-says-nfl-teams-reached-out-after-he-ran-a-4-48-during-rich-eisens-charity-event.html

He says teams have already reached out to him after posting a 4.48 for Rich Eisen's charity 40 yard dash run.  He's only 32, and frankly, I feel he has more wisdom, guidance, mentorship, and talent to offer than Mayfield, Jimmy G, or Foles.  Plus, we know Rhule loves his Baylor guys.  RGIII did a great job helping Lamar Jackson along his first few years, and still was competent when he had to play.  He also acknowledged in this interview that he is fine coming in strictly as a mentor/vet backup to a young QB.  I say this may be my favorite option if it's an indeed an option, again with the caveat that Cam doesn't want to come back, and we can go ahead and cut Sam and move forward with the future.

Gonna go check my popcorn supply 😐

Tannehill isn’t wrong. It’s not their jobs to do so, he wasn’t brought in after the fact and getting paid millions to specifically do that like some guys do.

No, he's not...

But that's also one of those things that you might not wanna say out loud.

He's competing for starting job making 8 figures. I get why he doesn't want to mentor him. One of the reasons I like the idea of Foles is he's been at the top as SB MVP and now at the bottom being cut. If he's willing to share that knowledge, that information is priceless.

RGIII is a good person and was good before he was injured.

I’m pretty sure he left his wife immediately she had their child for a girl he was creepin on on IG - a FSU track star

he seems to be pretty good in the booth though if he can keep getting reps he may end up being a better broadcaster than NFL QB

He’s not wrong but he isn’t right either. It’s his prerogative. A real leader, with class and grace, could be able to accept and handle his role as a mentor to someone who may eventually take his job. He could still be there for Willis instead of being a little bitch about it.

    • Yep - honestly though, I thought his coverage was as good as you could possibly do on a man coverage crossing route with Dak having all day to throw. Dak made a perfect throw and if it wasn't in front of Pickens, it could have easily been picked off. Seemed like we ran more man than I have seen our defense run so far this year. Defense also did a great job of playing their gap/zone responsibilities (even if Dak did pick apart our zone a good chunk of the game) - that screen play on the last drive could easily have gone for a touchdown if Moehrig didn't play his zone and make a great tackle. Biggest complaint about Evero was not blitzing a few more times (especially when Dallas was in the red zone). The few times we did it, Dak didn't look comfortable.
    • There was some pretty egregious missed calls vs the Chiefs in the Lions game, especially Kelce. The completion where he clearly used the ground to catch the ball. The hold in front of the ref as Pacheco ran by where the defender was trying to turn around and couldnt because Kelce had him by the jersey. Mahomes openly taunting after scoring a TD. 0 penalties after double digit the week before. Cmon.
    • People get trade happy and look at resources as barter items. They fail to see them as resources to be used to our benefit rather than someone else's. Right now, Chuba and Rico are massive benefits to us and a strong rushing attack so greatly benefits any passer, much less a young one like Bryce still is.  And the better our running game, the more our offense can eat up the clock, the less time our defense is on the field. And that is priceless, too. Don't mess with the running game. Don't mess with the receivers. Maybe look at our O-line and think we may have hit on something good during these injuries. Look at our D-line and seem some strength evolving there. Our secondary has its good spots and some that are still developing. Our linebacking corps did well this last outing. Our special teams are on a major upswing as of this past week. Heck, even our QB is showing us a little something right now that we can build on. Perhaps putting out a yard sale sign right now might be less advantageous than looking at the team and saying, "You are all part of something good that is happening. We want to see that continue to grow."
