Observer article: Panthers have a core under 25 they can win with and build around

Coaching and QB play are my two biggest concerns by far.

Unfortunately, the one thing football related that Tepper has been right about is that you need three things to be consistently competitive in the NFL - a QB, a coach, and a GM. The first is a long shot hope for us in the way of a 3rd round rookie. The second is virtually a confirmed bust. The third is an incomplete grade.

So yeah... it's still a significant uphill road ahead of us.

I spent several hours with the team (players and coaches) today and they seem tight, having fun and really enjoying each other. I see a different team vibe and I believe we are going to see a better team, of certain guys can stay healthy.

In what capacity (if you don't mind my asking)?

Just letting y'all know I work directly across the street from the stadium and I was able to watch a practice on the outdoor field and even though they aren't even in pads that run defense is going to struggle bad this year.

To be fair, that's an extremely difficult thing to judge when they're not in pads.

Music. I am the stadium DJ and handle all their events, including game day. I interact with a lot of players and some coaches and they all seem to be on the same page, loose, having fun with each other (unlike a lot of reports).

Cool 🙂

Have there been reports of locker room dysfunction, though? Can't say I've seen anything like that.

i think it’s logical to expect more of the same. lose Gilmore but get horn (who is still an uknown), lose Reddick and get ?.  we gained ? to fix dline. but to address the ?’s the oline looks decent, problem is there is no depth. not enough draft picks to help the ?’s due to incompetence. still no qb or HC, supposedly better supporting cast though. i’ll be surprised if they crack .500 and I think that’s reasonable. i see zero reason the south won’t be won by Brady though.

Let's look at depth for example. With the addition of 3 potential new starters with NFL experience on the line along with Moton, most of the guys who started last year will be depth. So we will have a deep rotation with lots of guys with starting experience. If CMC goes down we have several good options with starting experience to come in.  The secondary is the same way. Everywhere in free agency where we have brought in a potential starter is also a guy who gives us good depth if they get beaten out.  About the only areas that are still unknown may be DLine and QB. And it is still early. How many guys do we bring in after training camp cuts.

We made the correct choices in the last draft, and we didn't make any free agency blunders. That's all we can do for now. Our roster looks good overall, but we are still looking for a franchise QB. That places us firmly in the bottom tier of teams, and we'll stay right there until we draft a QB in the 2023 draft. Stay patient for the moment, but we're going to get destroyed in 2022. It's a QB league.

This is an important approach to winning the war of attrition by seasons end.  The quality could be better on the oline and the qb group is a serious unknown.

The dline is a serious concern of mine and I'm still not sold on Burns.  I'm my opinion he's a 3-4 outside linebacker that sucks against the run. But we shall see.

Didn't Joe "Last to Know" Person and some perpetually stoned washed-up safety say Rhule had lost the locker-room?

All #FakeNews...

...what a surprise🤦‍♂️😂!

Thanks for the legit info musicman, hope you have a great season 🤙.

This is the worst spot they can be in. Filling the roster with good young talent and wasting their prime and cheap contracts on years where they have zero quarterback. These players will continue to grow and be solid players causing the panthers to be bad but not bad enough to be in position to draft their franchise qb.

This franchise is a disaster and our only saving grace is that the wonder twins of Rhule and darnold continue their incompetence and we just have an all time bad season this year. If anyone can pull that off, I truly believe It’s Rhule and darnold.

What is more likely to happen is Rhule and darnold know they are playing for their jobs and careers and they win a few meaningless games putting us just out of position to get the next franchise qb.

    • WTF are you talking about? There is literally nothing east of Raleigh until you get to the coast.  Nothing really north either not that it matters. Y'all really want to believe Raleigh is some big-time place and Charlotte is bumpkinville. It's so provincial minded and frankly laughable. Unfortunately, actual demographics and reality paint a different picture. Raleigh homers are in a different class, man. A city of half a million whose inhabitants think they are some global city when most people living in this country don't even know where it's at...  And they think they're flexing by crapping on Charlotte in this forum... The insecurity is off the effing chart...
    • This is ridiculous and embarrassing... lol do you work for the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce? I mean sure Raleigh is perfectly ok, but you're acting like Raleigh is NYC and not half the size of Charlotte like it actually is. I know it's easy to crap on the Panthers and everything related to them, including Charlotte, but this blatant nonsense from someone who needs to travel outside the Carolinas a little bit... it would help you from making embarrassing small-town comments like this... For real, do you really believe that?  B/c if so, you really need to get outside of Wake County, NC some if you expect anyone to take you seriously...
    • I wish it started this month, theres about to be zilch on tv for sports unless you have the attention span for baseball
