We literally weren't even the worst OL in the NFL, much less the worst in Panthers history.

And, no, I am not buying into starting Darnold......ever. I literally don't want to see him again on the field in this uniform. He is a bottom 3 starting QB in franchise history. I don't want to see him cement a #1 status.

Joe Burrow has gotten the fuging poo kicked out of him the past two seasons. If Corral is broken by a bad to mediocre OL, he was probably never gonna be the guy. fug the kid gloves, if the motherfuger can play, let him play. He's a late 3rd round pick, figure it the fug out.

Pretty much.... take ur lumps now.... still feel better about easing him in...Sam will give that opportunity.

The NFL has seen enough of any of the other options for us at QB to know it is time to just play Corral and live with the rookie stuff. A dud, a gunslinger that can be as bad as the dud and a hurt game manager. Hard pass of that with Corral sitting there.

We deserve it. The fall from 2015 to now has been unreal.

It's solely because the team didn't prepare for life after Cam. Just like the didn't prepare before Tommy Joan took Jake.

They find a good qb and completely stop looking.  It's why we are where we are. It will happen again guaranteed.

It's not just QB. Look at LT after Gross. WR after Smitty. CB after Norman. OG after Norwell and Turner. DT after Jenkins.

Anytime we lose good players we flail at that position for years. When you draft poorly for years you probably have significant holes and virtually no depth.

Mgmt moved on from Cam Newton like he was an afterthought they could replace in a snap of their fingers and they've been chasing their tails ever since. It started with Tepper. He wanted to put his own stamp on the team and the braintrust he put in place started ass backwards. Instead of an all defense draft every move we made after Cam should have been about the oline and drafting the QB of the future.

Moved on with no plan in place to replace him is a common theme with both owners and every coach/GM we've had.

Hes got a strong record and solid stats and been in the league for 8 years. Nobody is saying he's great but he's not a failure by any means.  SF being stupid doesn't change that. His biggest issue is injuries.

So to be clear, you think the Niners are being stupid and should just keep Jimmy G? He is pretty much Ryan Tannehill. He can put up good stats when he has a big OL, strong running game and isn’t needed to make key plays. Come playoff time he crumbles. If you like his stats check out his 2021 playoff stats.

MLB after Luke...although that one would have been tough to see coming.

That said, we have never drafted well for depth...we try to fill starter roles in the 4th with a CB out of Miami of Ohio instead of drafting the Cade May's of the world.  At least in the past.

I mean his own team traded three first-round picks and a third-rounder for an unproven rookie to try to replace him...

The 49ers realized that they had Alex Smith and wanted to try for a Patrick Mahomes. Nothing wrong with an Alex Smith if the rest of your team is the 2000 Ravens or the 85 Bears. But they don't have that.

    • This is what I mean. I am not some huge BY fan. I honestly don't look at QBs the way a lot of you guys do. Right or wrong, I've always looked at them as just another cog in the machine. Didn't want BY or even a trade up for a QB in 2023. We saw in the Super Bowl how important the rest of the team is on any given Sunday. Now... so PFF, who has no reason to prop up BY, says he's first in 2 stat lines and Panthers "fans" are arguing why it's either wrong or a made up stat just to make BY look good. Even though they have multiple stat lines where he's literally last in. Like 32nd in the NFL. Some he's even lower than 32. Take a step back. Try to objectively self analyze. This is just not sensible.  Same thing I see with other teams' fans and their QBs though. We analyze every single throw on every single play. For every other QB, most here are only using highlights to judge. Makes a difference. We saw Stafford miss throws when they played Carolina - both games. We saw Love throw crap up when they played Carolina. We saw Dak miss throws when they played Carolina - and Pickens was putting on a SHOW. We saw Josh Allen win a game with 163 yards passing against Carolina, but if BY does it he's crap and can't pass for 200 yards. Gents... come on.
    • None of us think we're contenders this season but no reason we're doomed to 5 or 6 wins either. Dan has to have another 2025- like draft class and at least 2 key free agent signings. We're not Seattle but they don't win without 5 starters from their last 2 draft classes and Darnold and Lawrence in free agency.  Alas,  we'll have to wait one more season for a QB upgrade.
