How about everyone keeps the money where it is and the players simply trade teams - Darnold to SF, Garoppolo to the Browns and Baker to the Panthers. The money is already on the books anyhow.

Not a bad idea if they would try it.

I swear writers come up with the dumbest ideas.  I don't think this has been put on the table but Carolina gets screwed in it.

We get Mayfield, Cleveland gets Jimmy G and we cough up 2 picks...

How about we take Mayfield and his cap hit, Cleveland takes Jimmy G, and SF takes Darnold and his cap hit.  Only threeway trade I would agree with.

I'd go for that but I don't see Cleveland taking all of Jimmy G's contract. They'd be better off taking the all but 5 million for Mayfield.

I certainly don't think it would happen.  I just don't like any other option.  

I think there is a possibility our coaching staff wants it.  Rhule is probably a little on the desperate side, and under some pressure to show improvement this year.  And getting even an average qb would help, whether its Mayfield or Jimmy G.  But I don't think should give up much to get said qb.

Not that the team listens to me.  🙂

So there was a lot of dinking and dunking, but that’s the right thing to do in that situation.  Week 1 pass chart doesn’t look bad. He pushes the ball downfield more than several other quarterbacks I’ve watched. For some reason the huddle thinks other quarterbacks are constantly throwing 60 yard bombs. That is absolutely not the case. Some quarterbacks aren’t taking any deep shots at all.

      We keep referring to it as Over drafting him like he was really a first round draft pick. We traded up at the end of the first to get him in a deal with Buffalo so that we could grab him and get an extra year on his contract if needed. At the time that sounded like "If he really soars, we can get that fifth year extension automatically". It really probably meant, "We might need five years to really get him up to starting WR speed."  He was basically a second rounder with a potentially meaningless pick as well to pay for those rights. Still, I think that with him we are on the Kelvin Benjamin bubble right now... will he ever be more than just an athlete? Can he really learn to fight and compete for that ball? Can he learn professional routes? Can he handle the fame and more money than he's ever seen in his life? Can he handle all of the pressure a fanbase puts on him? Tough shoes to fill. Not sure I'd want to be in them. I hope he gets it all together soon. A lot, most draftees, can't. Good luck and God bless to the young man. He's got a lot of work to do in a very unforgiving workplace.

      This is the #1 reason I defend Bryce. Everyone around him is learning on the job, including him. But hey in 3 years we could have a talented offense that grew up together.
