I don’t think anyone here dislikes Corral. The two groups are people who want him to start right away and people who want him to sit first. If he is the answer I’d assume most people here will be happy!

I am not in the "start right away" camp (unless he earns it in TC).  I am in the "cut the fug out of sam darnold and give his reps to MC" camp.   I just at some point in this season want to see Corral get a few starts under his belt so we can at least see what we have.  If he is in over his head so be it, its not going to ruin him contrary to what folks think.  If he can play he can play.

Agree with this. I’m all aboard the Corral bandwagon, and I want him to get more reps in practice. However, if he’s not ready to start by week 1, I’d rather they give him some more time. Set him up for success. My hope is that he will be our long term answer at QB. This is the time of year to be optimistic!

It literally makes no sense.  Cut darnold, eat the contract and move on down the road.  Having him in the qb room and taking reps on the field is corky level retarded.  And people on here think Rhule is getting a bad rap.  But yet he pulls dumb ass poo like this

Nobody is just gonna eat 18M.

Not without exhausting resources to move him to a team that has an injury down the road. Everyone knows this is Baker's job.

I’m pretty much the same. Get rid of Sam and let Corral and Baker battle it out. I’d assume Baker would start the season and if he struggles or we are out of the playoff race start working Corral into the lineup.

I'd feed Corrals desire to scorch the open landscape of the NFCS.

I see he can do it all. I look at film I see a lion heart. I see Aaron Rodgers 3.0.

I see the player. What have we seen from Matt Corral in this very short time?

Not willing to not be the starter. He told us that. I'm with him especially with the guys at the end of their NFL career ahead of him.

He's the Young Lion and he knows it. Super confident super capable, fast, accurate on the run accurate as heck on the fade, masterful even.

We've got our QB folks. If YOU can't see it you just may be Matt Rhule.

No team is going to trade for darnold that is just a pipe dream.  He is just wasting space on our roster 18 million or not

Would we not eat a portion of it to make him go away the way CLE did with Baker? We take on $8-10M of his contract in order to relieve us of $8-10M and remove him from our QB room?

Baker + 50% of Darnold's salary = ~ $20M for our QB1.

I'm not on anyone's band wagon until they load up the band and start playing.

IDC if it's Corral or Mayfield. Whoever wins us games and plays well.

I am not including PJ or Darnold because I don't believe in unicorns or Santa Claus or whatever other fantasy you want to choose. Because both of those guys and REAL NFL success....that's a fantasy.

    • Director of College scouting should be next. I'd like to see the organization go after Senior Bowl Director Jim Nagy who's a good friend of Dan Morgan back in their time in Seattle
    • I always just go back to what I said at the time. Trade Burns to the Rams because it's a fantastic deal. I was screaming it. I'm still angry at Fitt over that. Right after he turned down the deal I said he needed to get into a time machine and go back and make the deal. Hate that dude. Ruined our team. Trading D.J was a major mistake because what matters most in the NFL is the passing game, so you never unload a proven #1 WR when there are other options. Always trade a defensive player over a WR if you have that option available. Fitt was precious about defensive players when we had a passing offense that didn't function. That's how know he was completely incompetent. The passing offense is the top priority, so until that is functioning all defensive players are possible trade fodder. At this point we're in a rebuilding year under a new GM and a QB who looks absolutely horrendous. It makes perfect sense, if you follow all of our moves, that we would be the worst team in the NFL. Of course we are. You can't screw up as a GM that many times over the years and not ruin the franchise. We're exactly where we should be, dead last, or bottom 3. Whichever you like. But this is the here and now. Dan did a good job getting our 2nd round pick back, and we won't know about the picks until they take the field in regular season games. We're in dark until then, but if they suck the Panthers media will hide it shamelessly. Remember when Young was supposed to be a football genius? Yeah he was rancid turds out there when live fire started. There is some hope. Either Young improves and we win more games, or he stays about the same and we draft a new QB in 2025. Either way the NFL will help us out of this jam, but all we need is for Dan not to screw it up.
