Brian Baldinger breaks down the Panthers' offensive tackles

Good to hear about Icky.  We know BC can hold down the fort at either T spot, but a stud LT is a plus.  If we can't find a stud LG, then something is wrong.  I think BC has a good shot, but watch the development of Mays as well.  He looked GOOD at RG.

The thing about evaluating OLmen is you have to see several games vs. teams that show nearly every situation possible.   For example, Icky vs. a Speed Rusher is a concern.  I love him vs a Bull Rusher and in run blocking.  How quickly will he pick up stunts from a 4-3?  A 3-4?  Just spitballing here, but he was OK in the few reps he had last week vs Washington.  Mays looked great, but how will he look vs a stud DL and not a scrub?  Time will tell--that is why I love these preseason games--

Gross/Otah is the best, even though it was only for one year. That 2008 offensive line as a whole was pretty dang solid.

I still wonder what if with Otah, the guy was an absolute stud when healthy. Having him in 2013 to bookend Gross could've put us over the top that year honestly.

Moton is the perfect RT and is the most under appreciated (or under talked about) player on our team.

Top 3 player on the team by skill, and arguably our best player when you weigh availability.

If you're NOT talking about a lineman, that's a good thing.

    • Another thread where the Huddle melts down over a Bryce comment.  "Conversations" and "Bryce Young has been signed to a new long-term contract" are still far away from being the gospel.  For a fanbase that has watched two top-3 drafted QBs come here, and us move on, only to see them elevate their play elsewhere, I find it comical. Bryce is flawed but this org is damned if you do and damned if you don't with BY9.  Why would our GM and HC say anything other than supportive about their QB1. Yes, he's extended, but I truly do not think if he goes out and has a repeat of the previous seasons, that he is here beyond 2027. They're giving him every opportunity and surrounding him with a ridiculous amount of assets on both sides of the ball. If he continues to pitch 110 yd/ game and cough up the ball while everyone else is busting their ass, no way Dan keeps him beyond the extension.
    • Ooof, I was not a Proctor fan. I agree w/ a lot of smarter folks than me that he's more of a guard and think his weight fluctuation is going to be something to navigate. I liked Lomu a lot, but figured there would be more talented guys there at 19. I also wasn't big on bringing in a TE via the draft. If it's not a vet (Njoku) or a trade for Mayer or Kmet, I'd just as soon see what the youngsters have. No need cluttering the room with more of the same.
    • Sam Darnold & Bryce Young are two very different Qbs ..just saying the last 25 years approximately 2/3 of ALL  first round Qb's  in the NFL were or are bust.so for everyone who makes it like a Sam Darnold you have two that don't make it or are a bust
