The 2022 Roster Bubble (NFL.com)

Info on possible cuts and trades as the final roster deadline approaches (Link)

Included on the list:

Terrace Marshall Jr. - Carolina Panthers · WR

This is pure conjecture here; we’ve heard no credible reports the Panthers are shopping Marshall. But it’s hard not to see Matt Rhule’s frustration mounting with the 2021 second-rounder, who has battled a hamstring injury.

Marshall was back in action last week during the Patriots’ joint practices, but he tweaked the hamstring and did not play in the game. “We need Terrace to start practicing,” Rhule said. “We need him to step up.”

A trade might be a bit of a dramatic step to take at this stage, unless the Panthers truly don’t believe Marshall can overcome the health issues that apparently have followed him from LSU to Charlotte. Other Panthers receivers, including Shi Smith and Rashard Higgins, have stepped up in Marshall’s absence. But is it enough to convince GM Scott Fitterer to trade away one of his first Carolina draft picks?

...

As far as players from other teams, it's not an extensive list but it is worth checking out.

I think the compensation the Panthers would want would make it difficult to find a trade partner. 2nd round pick in year 2, you would think they would want a late second/early 3rd to move him this early in his career.

I think he gets another chance next offseason. If he hasn't found a way to be able to play by next year this time, I can see us dump him for a 5th. Someone will take a shot with a mid/late round pick.

Compensation value probably gets lowered by the fact that he doesn't really play all that much.

I am not sure that is the case anymore. He hasn't played well for us and has continued to be injured.

I don't think he is high on many radars.

Nah, dude. He'd be snapped up in a heartbeat.

He hasn't played well because he's been on ice.

    • I read that Pittsburgh is a possibility.  I think of college QB studs who had some form of mental quirk yet tons of talent--but their issue made being a team leader difficult and it led to their demise--going back:  Jamarcus Russell, Art Schlichter, Jeff George, etc. I think people forget that the QB must not only have talent, but they must lead.
    • I wish I knew more details, but the NIL money to 20-year olds combined with easy access to gambling sites is a side effect that these kids may not have considered.  To your point,A famous 2009 Sports Illustrated article titled “How (and Why) Athletes Go Broke” estimated that 78% of retired NFL players go bankrupt or face significant financial stress within two years of leaving the league.  I am guessing that ego and $$$ and the thrill of competition (most pro athletes love competition because they are the winners) makes it a powerful temptation.  Throw in the ease of gambling on your phone which is always in your hand, and I see your point x 10.
    • Freeling got some reps at RT when they gave Moton a rest day--I sorta hope Freeling gets brought along slowly as you describe.  It would be better for him for reasons you provide.  We have a really good problem.
