YGM

He's a high motor guy that I was hoping would eventually turn into a Charles Johnson-esque type player. Solid against the run, high effort, and gets his sacks as the game goes on because he just doesn't quit.

Unfortunately, looks like we got a rotational guy at best. His timing off the ball is horrendous, and he doesn't look explosive at all. I gave him a lot of poo during his rookie season, but he looked to be one of the few players that actually improved last season.

KJ Henry out of Clemson could be a steal on day 3 and could easily replace him imo 👀

You can spin it however you want.  No, hes not the only problem uo front, but hes one of them.  He's a 2nd round pick with great physicals,  yet he doesn't make plays.  As of right now, he is not good.  At all.

I'm not spinning it, I'm literally saying what's going on in the clips which apparently is too much for you to handle. Sorry you are crying like a 5 year old.

Honestly, I've been ragging on YGM long before this thread, but again, he is just one of several problems...  and I can't help but think the biggest one is Derrick Brown.  If he did ehat we drafted him to do - eat up space, stuff the run, take up multiple blockers, etc., all these other guys look A LOT BETTER.  Brown is probably the biggest problem up front and it just has a snowball effect on everyone else.

Yes, that post reads as crying.  And you're not spinning what he's doing in the clips, you were describing that and then using it to spin the assessment that YGM isn't an issue and he is.  Your 2nd round picks need to produce, period.  Sorry you don't like people rebutting your opinion.

It’s time for him to start getting called out.

there are fans that love to call out Burns or Brown.  But going back and looking at the game again.  This dude

WoW

year 3 for a High 2nd rd pick and he is making Kony Ealy look like a pro bowler.

Derrick Brown showing more effort running by down field here than YGM

honestly

this dude has almost looked like a liability

In the first clip he actually didn't do a bad job.

The Mike over scraped and allowed the cut back.

Ygm based on his alignment and footwork has a cgap primary responsibility. Now while I would like to see him sink his hips and probably move maybe one yard less to the right it wasn't awful.

The 3 technique over pursued and so did the Mike actually. Guys are not playing sound fundamental defense.

I know the 3 is being doubled but he's actually better off falling down and making a mess (too bad the stupid defensive holding rule is in place it took away the best option for the 3) than he is being washed thru b gap.

He should squat in A gap while squeezing B. The 5 should squat in C.

Mike scrapes over the top to B and the play never goes anywhere.

    • It's rare enough for a running back to tear the same ACL twice. There's not much of a sample size on the recoveries. And of course Dobbins has missed a lot of time--he was injured twice. That number will drop as his career continues, and even if it doesn't, that doesn't necessarily mean it has anything to do with the prior injuries. Dobbins just started and played well for a playoff team all year until he was injured by a hip-drop tackle. Surely his ACL recoveries didn't contribute to his completely random foot injury caused by an illegal tackle? Again, I'm confused why everyone is being so definitive that there's 'very little chance' of any meaningful contribution ever when the greatest counterpoint ever played for us. Thomas Davis tore the same knee over and over again and was basically fine. As for the roster-building stuff, we'll see what happens with Chuba and Dowdle at the end of the year, but Etienne's not going to factor into this. Either Brooks comes back, in which case we've already seen more from him than we have from Etienne, or he doesn't. But Etienne's not forcing him off the team. If anything, Etienne's current role is his absolute floor.
    • Then I would assume disingenuous. Why on earth would you consider this an "exciting" time to be a Panthers fan? Let me ask this, how old are you and how long have you been an NFL fan?
    • An ESPN writer had a good breakdown of teams that were likely to come back to earth(KC and Redskins were two of them) based on outlier results in 2024 in close games. I think that has a lot to do with it. Found it: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46003861/nfl-teams-likely-decline-lose-more-games-2025-season-predictions-vikings-chiefs-commanders-lions-colts
