I think Matt Rhule gets one more game

week two of 2013 we were in season three of ron rivera's embattled tenure and a fanbase sick to their stomach and ready for his head watched his team drop a heartbreaker to the slapdick buffalo bills.

rivera blanked the giants a week later and that team went on to win the division. tepper knows this is a possibility if the team's on the brink and just needs to turn a corner.

if we drop one to the saints next week i think it's curtains.

I don't think Tepper knows jack poo about our past. You think he'll reference our 2013 season turnaround when assessing Rhule?

not directly no, but that happening was a reflection of the ability and arguably litmus test of a ball coach to turn around a foundering team

This is easily our worst era.  I really think it beats out the deaf mute Seifert's regime.

Seifert gave us 1999. Had no defense but our offense was so entertaining to watch, and we didn’t even make the playoffs but it came down to the last week tiebreaker.

One of my most nostalgic years. Moose. Walls. Jeffers.

That last week of the season was still one of the craziest, most entertaining things ever, even if we didn't get into the playoffs due to the old rules.

    • What?!?!?! Chark's 1,000 yard season was 4 years before he played for us and he only had 525 yards in 15 games as our #1 WR.  Dude has 3,100 yards in 7 seasons, he's the literal definition of a JAG and you think he is better than half our current WR room? T-Mac is literally already better than Chark was at his peak, which again, was years before he ever even put on a Panthers uniform, and there is a real argument to be made that XL and Coker were both better as rookies than Chark was for us in his one season here.
    • Im glad we're starting low. It's nonsensical to put us at 28 IMHO based on objective things IMHO (I think 21-24) is far more appropriate but whatever. Washington was at the bottom last year FWIW.  In 2003, Sports Illustrated said our best chance to win the division was to transfer to the ACC. In 2015, everyone wrote us off as a team that snuck into the playoffs with a losing record in 2014 and lost our best WR in TC (Kelvin Benjamin). All these videos are fodder for conversation, but this prediction has no more validity than saying the Panthers are making the SB bc we're starting the season against the Jaguars again. If Bryce plays like he did down the stretch we will end up the season just fine. This roster is much better than it has been the last 2 seasons. No one knows who any season will ultimately end up, but this team is finally being built in the right way, and the idea that this roster can't compete this year is as insane as being it was when we were gaslit in 2023 that we were a rookie QB from winning the division with that roster.
